Soldier tribal: it has a chance to be a serious thing while M15 and RtR block are both in Standard....
The big team up? The Captains. Preeminent pulls in Precinct for a surprise connection to the opponent's face and a bonus Soldier. Not that you necessarily need the bonus, because this deck's creatures are ALL Soldiers, even the tokens from Precinct Captain and Raise the Alarm. Why is that important? Well, aside from the Preeminent Captain hijinks, Obelisk of Urd becomes a HUGE bonus when it affects all your creatures. Combine that with Paragon of New Dawns and Spear of Heliod, and your "weenies" won't be able to be called that for long!Other Return to Ravnica contributors come up big too. Loxodon Smiter is still great, and you don't have to worry as much about splashing in green when you can also use Dryad Militant. Court Street Denizen is sneaky good here, with double triggers (on either player's turn!) with Raise the Alarm, and a surprise trigger when you drop a Soldier into play with Preeminent Captain's ability. (And while we're on that topic, consider flashing in Archetype of Courage: surprise! all my creatures have first strike now...might want to recheck your combat math. Anyway....) There's also Grove of the Guardian, which I still delight in playing when I can as a win-out-of-nowhere bonus.I can't wait to build and test this out. Pretty cheap, too!

I like "brave the elements" more than "gods willing" you lose the scry, but you can alpha strike or protect multiple creatures for the same cost.

Can't believe I forgot BtE! I love that card and will miss it terribly when it leaves Standard again. Thanks for the reminder!
Anytime, we all miss cards when the format has 8 legal sets haha.
