Obviously Exava was designed to work with unleashed creatures (which she does with brutal efficiency). But what other +1/+1'ed creatures could we abuse with her...?
Allies!I've built ally decks before and thought black got the short end of the stick. They had some interesting characters in the ally craze, but nothing that ever made me want to reach for them. But if they get haste in addition to their counters, then Nimana Sell-Sword and especially Bojuka Brigand suddenly become much more interesting....With a good core of allies around them, Agadeem Occultist and Hagra Diabolist become much more interesting. And Kazuul Warlord can even turn them hasty as well! There's some good ol' unleash in here, with the too-good-to-ignore Rakdos Cackler and Hellhole Flailer. But perhaps more interesting are a couple of Elementals, which might seem like odd inclusions until you really examine them. Ashling the Pilgrim is a great mana dump for late in the game, able to pump up to a nice big size and potentially finish the opponent off with combat damage and/or her extra damage once sufficiently pumped. Brighthearth Banneret makes many creatures here cheaper, or can be used to give a creature a +1/+1 counter at an opportune moment. And Rage Forger basically acts as a cheap Hellrider with your varied, +1/+1 counter'ed creatures....or you can turn those counters into more direct damage by way of Ion Storm. It's also a good way to turn your unleash creatures into emergency blockers if necessary. What do you think? Any and all help appreciated, and helpful comments will be rewarded with rep points. :-) Thanks in advance!
