The first in a series of decks focused around unblockable (and often hexproof or otherwise untouchable) creatures. Unlike many Aura decks focused around such creatrues, these try and do thing a little...differently.
These decks all focus on blue as the primary color. Why? Primarily because of Invisible Stalker, who has gained quite the reputation with the rise of Bant Aura decks in recent times. I've dabbled with him over the last year and a half, initially going for an odd Human deck centered around him, Blighted Agent, and equipment that got better with Humans (Silver-Inlaid Dagger being the best example). You'll notice shades of that continue here, but this goes in a much different direction than that deck or the Aura decks that have cropped up recently. This one is made more to chip away and hopefuly have some more interesting and enjoyable interactions.Blue and black have the unblockable striker theme sprinkled throughout several Magic sets over the years, including in Dimir with their return in Gatecrash, so I figured I'd start there. Adding black in allows us to focus on several other "untouchables" from this color pairing's history. Shadowmage Infiltrator gets in with the added benefit of card draw. Inkfathom Infiltrator is a souped-up Tormented Soul. Inkfathom Witch turns your unblocked creatures--many of them rather small stat-wise--into 4-power beaters. Dimir Infiltrator can get in as an unblockable creature himself, but is perhaps best as a tutor for most of the other unblockable creatures here. And you've also got the conditional unblockable creature you can turn on with Dimir Keyrune.Boost them with your equipment, protect them with other equipment, Mizzium Skin, Elgaud Shieldmate, and counterspells, and keep the cards coming with Coastal Piracy, Mass Appeal, and others.Seems pretty simple...probably TOO simple. Any tips or tricks to make this deck better? What are some of YOUR ideas?
