I hate bees and hornets and stinging insects.Which is why it's such fun to unleash them on my enemies....
Hornets! These little pests make a big splash in Magic 2015, with the mighty Hornet Queen making its first appearance outside of Commander, and Hornet Nest looming large and discouraging most all opponents from wanting to attack. But even if they don't, you can still get yourself some flying, deathtouch Hornets from the Nest by way of Setessan Tactics, enabling you to get up to 2 Hornets without the Nest dying, or perhaps even better, enabling you to have the Nest fight their biggest fatty and unleash a swarm of angry insects! Setessan Tactics is fantastic then too, as it lets you trade a little Hornet for virtually any creature you want gone on the opponent's side. Deathtouch is SO powerful....Anyway, the rest of the deck really revolves around the Hornets. Fellow insect Invasive Species has a drawback that can normally be a pain, but not so much if you're returning one of your simple Hornet tokens, and the "drawback" can be a HUGE boon if you return a Hornet Queen and replay it the next turn. Four MORE Hornets when the Queen reenters play? Yes, please! The enchantments boost the Nest and/or Hornets to give them more survivability. The instants fetch Hornets (Chord of Calling, which is fantastic with Hornet Nest when the opponent is attacking), slow down or outright obliterate aggro (Druid's Deliverance, which gives you another Hornet, or Hunter's Ambush, which can make for a very one-sided rout), save key Hornets (Mending Touch), and draw cards (Warriors' Lesson on understandably unblocked Hornets). And I bet Obelisk of Urd needs no explanation. Mwahaha! So much fun! But can it be competitive. Time will tell, I suppose. What do YOU think?

Mutavaults count as insects just so you know;)

Yes, but A.) I'd rather have the guaranteed forests for the Queen, and B.) I really can't afford them and STILL have yet to pull one from a pack. But run 'em if you got 'em! Obelisk of Urd certainly makes it worth it.
Yeah, just by the time you're casting Queen you should always have at least 3 green as you would have 4mystic, 16 forests and 1 nyk for green sources, completely understand the not wanting to dish out money for them though. They just have good interactions with obelisk, you have no idea how many times people forget muta's get buffed by those kind of effects lol.
Oh yeah, if I had them, I'd certainly find room!Mutavault and Obelisk should make for ANOTHER stupidly powerful Muta combo for the next couple months.
Mutavault is the 2nd most powerful card in standard atm, only falling short of thoughseize.I wish I was going to stick around for some dragon tribal in khans block.
http://www.mtgvault.com/viagrasaurusrex/decks/760167/This is the deck I'm working on using different cards to ping hornets nest, it seems like it'll be fun and the interaction between polymorpher's jest and izzet static caster is amazing.
