Ajani didn\'t start out doing wizardy things—he was born a warrior. He grew up on a far-off plane in his brother\'s pride of fellow (non-metallized) leonin, and quickly established himself as a shrewd and strong combatant, specializing in his signature curved axe, just like his brother\'s.

Im new to the planeswalkers what do the -6 and +1 symbols to the side mean?

I like the leonin theme of the deck, plus the cards seem to work well together
@ akroma: look here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=magic/planeswalkers/week4 @ George Thnx... ;) so do I...
1st off GOOD deck I like it..... Akroma as for what the -6/+1 symbols mean heres the short version.....Ajani gets 4 counters on him when he comes into play then you get to use any of the abilities on the side as long as he has correct amount of counters so when he comes into play you can gain 2 life right away and make ajani a 5... on your next turn you can either gain 2 more life or put +1/+1 counters on each of your creatures.....putting ajani back to 4.. keep it up till there are 0 counters.
might be an interesting idea, maybe not for this deck, but for planes walkers in general: both doubling season and clockspinning affect planeswalkers
yeah doubling season is nice... but it only works when the planewalker comes into play... doubling season doesn't work for using the planewalker abilities. So if use the "life gain" ability of the planewalker and I would have a doubling season inplay... the ammount of loyalty counters won't be doubled... but when the planewalker comes into play it's true that the planewalker comes into play with double counter on it... in this case... I 'll be able to cast the avatar right away. ;)
