Deck discussion for Niv-Mizzet burn

Not sure why you've got two Chromatic Lanterns because your mana base looks pretty solid..

I know the mana base is pretty strong I just like knowing that I will not have a problem with getting either my blue or red mana. Also it will help pump Niv out quickly. It is like skipping 3rd and 6th turn

Devils play for long games maybe?

I might need to do that. I think that is a great idea. I think I will side board it though. I can always main board it later.

I think your mana base is too high. Nearly half your deck is land, which could result in you drawing nothing relevant for several turns.

Possibly consider dropping your mana base by 1 Island and 1 Mountain, and include a couple of extra counterspells or burn. Or if you're looking to go long game, the Staff of Nin could be a strong option. I'd also swap an Island and a Mountain for 2 Desolate Lighthouse to get yourself some card cycling.

I also think that 3 Niv-Mizzet is too many. If you've already got him on the field, then a second and possibly third one in your hand are dead cards. I'd drop down to 2 in favour of another Hypersonic Dragon.

For your sideboard I'd suggest Cyclonic Rift and Mizzimum Mortars, to give yourself some spot removal against aggro decks. And maybe a Door to Nothingness to get some benifit out of your Chromatic Lanterns against control decks.

Just some ideas.

I very much agree with you on that i will do that when I get home. I might need you to remind me lol. I think the Mizzimum mortars is am amazing idea. I knew I was missing something. Also what do think of a thrid color for the deck. I have been looking at the spoilers and I am now stuck on the deck. Should I go Omnitions?

Why do you run Counterflux, when it cannot be made cheaper by Electromancer.

Syncopate and Cancel do the same job more or less but you can take advantage of your goblin. Counterflux is more of a meta call anyway.

I just put counerflux in the deck due to it being uncounterable and also bc it is red and blue. But I will most certainly look into syncopate when I get home. Happy new years.

I like electrickery in this deck. Good for removal of a bunch of small tokens. Great with electromancer due to it only costing R to play to do 1 to everything.
