-how horrible is it? -it's so horrible, that when players play with this deck, baby penguins cry spontaneously over the world. so, how much is too much? going with a mill theme here, but not much on the mill department. I do like the idea of using Thought Scour / Horrifying Revelation+ Surgical Extraction on turn 1. getting lucky could take out a major part of most standard decks. any tips or advice? Update 3/6/12: so, going with the hard mill route, i decided to add in Chancellor and Mindcrusher in. Thinking about a 60 card deck: at least 20 are lands. so 36-40 cards will be actually spells. 4 Surgical extractions can mill at most 16 (four playsets of cards, assuming if the opponent uses all 4) or 32 with the help of Snapcaster. This can help against reanimator decks, specifically Elesh Norn, Unburial Rites, or Titans. Mindcrusher can mill 5, while Chancellor can potentially mill 7. The only thing the chancellor is good for in the beginning is if you have a Surgical Extraction. 3/14/12: changed out Horrifying Revelation, since it does not efficiently mill or forces good discard at the beginning of the game. it is probably side board worthy. also added a forbidden alchemy to improve card draw/find. removed the spellbomb, will move it to sideboard later.
