Deck Description

Pretty straight forward idea with this one.

I made this deck quite a while ago, and I have an updated version of it further on my deck list. Please check that one out, as it would most likely work much better.

Deck discussion for Godsire (Take 1)

Possibly replace cultivate with harrow because it can get you your mana out faster and still have them to play a smaller creature in your hand.

I like Harrow, but only in landfall decks.

I know what you mean, its also good for a deck with more than just 3 colors.

It is good, it's just that cultivate does basically the same thing. I just like that I get to keep my lands intact, and not get rid of one.

But with Harrow both come into play untapped. With Harrow your also thinning your deck and you could always sacrifice a land and get one of the same land if need be but usually you'd sacrifice one of the land type that you had the most of anyway or that was the least important.

That's a nice looking deck. How quickly can you get a Godsire out on the field? Turn 4 at the least right? I love Titanic Ultimatum as well, it's a game finishing card if there was one.

Also, I got a deck with the dual lands in a few days a go. You were right, they make a huge difference especially when you have a something like Mana Leak and Doom Blade in your hand and you don't know which one to play.

Well thanks, and yeah, sometimes this deck can jump off very quickly. I made it quite a while ago. I should probably redo it sometime soon.. Haha. Idea time.

But yes! Dual lands are my lord and savior. They make so much of a difference. So do fetch lands, as well. Thinning your deck is always pretty nice.

I wish I had more dual lands. I got a bunch in the Infect and Defile event deck. I need to get some Creeping Tarpits for it, and some Inkmoth Nexuses but they're just as expensive as a Jace Beleren and I think I'd rather have Jace.

I also do love G/R/W decks, especially the Woolly Thoctar and Knotvine Mystic combo. Tap a single mana and put a 5/4 on the field. And I've just noticed you have a Progenitus in there. Isn't that a bit unfair?

Nothing is unfair. Haha. Unless you're running a stereotypical Caw-Blade deck. Then wizards of the coast deems you too good.

Lol, I do agree with the Jace thing, but I don't see anything wrong with Stoneforge Mystic. Anyone heard of Doom Blade or Mana Leak?

You don't see anything wrong with Stoneforge Mystic? It's a gaping loop-hole for Batterskulls. You can cheat them into play as early as turn 3. Soon to be followed by a Jace, The Mind Sculptor. And I'd say Batterskull is one hell of a roadblock. Seeing as it can also turn a Squadron Hawk into a Baneslayer Angel.

And yes, I've heard of Doom Blade, and Mana Leak. They are among a "staple" group of cards (at least Doom Blade used to be before Go For The Throat was released). I don't think I've ever made a blue deck without at least two copies of Mana Leak. It's just.. so damned versatile!

What I'm say is that you just Mana Leak the SFM or Doom Blade it, not hard to do really. If you're playing Black you should be carrying some Deathmarks around in your sideboard for white creatures, would sort the problem easily. But you may have a point with the Batterskull. Maybe just ban that over the SFM.

Well Doom Blade doesn't necessarily solve your problem, they would still have the Batterskull in their hand. Oh well. Haha. I think it's still better for today's game that they made the bans.

I would agree with that, makes Standard a lot more fun knowing you don't have to put up with extra cheap Baneslayer Angels on turn 4 or 5 and having your permenants being bounced and your deck being omgwtflolpwnage milled.
