Deck Description

This is a Archangel of Thune based deck. it's designed around to control your opponent until you can get Thune out and start gaining life like crazy and at the same time, make your creatures unbelievably stronger.

How to Play

I would get Trained Caracal out first and attacking to gain some life as you will be attacked while waiting to get your big monsters out. After that, get Scavenging Ooze out to start exiling cards after sac'ing Trained Caracal to blocking and exiling it to build up the ooze.

Soulmender is just to gain life and to trigger Archangel of Thune's ability. Once enough mana, get Elite Arcanist out and exile Silence. You can completely lock down your opponent from casting. (I've done this a few time and it just really makes them mad). He can be used for other instants, like Sphinx's revelation, unlimited cards anyone? He can also use Charms and constantly remove attacking or blocking creatures or use Simic to give hexproof to a creature. So many possibilities.

Once you get to the point of being able to cast Thune, I would cast thune first and start triggering her ability with soulmender, scavenging ooze, Elixir, and lifelink from other creatures. They will get strong very fast and their counters gets doubled when Kalonian Hydra comes out and starts DOUBLING their counters too.

I love that card but I'm trying to keep it in Standard. :)

Great suggestion for a modern standard deck.
