Everything must go. Including your creatures. Thraximundar does well with lots of sacrifice in the deck, and lots of sacrifice is a very efficient form of control by itself, especially if one deck is prepared for it and the other is not. Keeping Thrax alive is priority one, so the deck has lots of ways of making sure that happens (darksteel plate/clout of the dominus/whispersilk cloak/lightning greaves). The deck is on the overall very black oriented, so there aren't many necessities for other forms of land.
