Deck discussion for Vampiric touch

Replace Hideous End with Grasp of Darkness or something. Hexmages and the Leyline could probably be sideboarded to make room for another Gatekeeper and a few Pulsetrackers maybe

Run fetchlands to maximize Bloodghast's potential.. he's a great card that has more use than you're playing him for.

Leyline of the void defeats the whole purpose of Bloodghast 100% if it’s out.

Read the card, the Leyline hits an opponent's graveyard.

Bloodghast doesn't need Void to be excellent..

Sideboard Hexmages for Bloodghasts and replace Hideous End with Grasp or Go for the Throat.

Thank you. The hideous ends are to deal damage. The hexmages can have what ever done with them, They just have to be in the deck. Who plays vamps w/o hexmages??

Me, I run them sideboard and do amazing.

And vamps are damage dealers themselves.. you don't need more. You'll do fine.

OK then I can change that up a bit. Thank you.

How about Pulse Trackers? Dunno, they're decent. Especially early game.

They're good don't get me wrong, but I'm not a big fan of them.

No biggy, runs well without 'em.

Perhaps Terramorphic Expanse? Could help speed things up and will be great for Bloodghasts

Those are in my sideboard. It's all interchangeable.

sideboard fetch lands are absolutely useless.
thats a wasted card slot.
and besides, what deck would you even bring them in against?
use marsh flats or that other fetchland which i forget the name of, lol.

also, lilianna sucks, man. ditch her altogether.
im too lazy to make suggestions, but all I can say is maindeck black sun's zenith

where on earth is vampire nocturnus: consider including

Psst.. it's standard.

2 or 3 Crypt of Agadeem might help speed things up a bit

Good suggestion, but I don't have any. Also, I don't think I need that much mana flowing.

0

It appears that your going for standard. IF not then maybe some Vampire Nocturnus...

0
Posted 03 March 2011 at 15:45

Yes it is standard otherwise the nocturnus would be right there. I had to put in captivating vampire to try and suffice.

i did the same with mine but i named mine Team Edward cause my Captivating Vampire's are foil.

I never found Guul Draz Assassin to be all that great in my vampire deck. It seems that I can never level him up by the time that he might be useful. Check out my vampire deck and let me know what you think.

Verdant Catacombs and Marsh Flats instead of 6-8 of your swamps would help you draw into.. not lands. Which is good. Take terramorphic expanse out of sideboard along with liliana and sorin.. if you've tested this deck against others, you mind telling everyone what problems you've encountered so we can try to suggest something to help for sideboard instead of just filler cards?

you should throw in another bloodghast too. maybe instead of a kalastria highborn?

0

I really like my deck as is. Everyone has good ideas, but it's hard to pull this out replace that here you know? The only problem with the deck was the inconsistent land base, so I will be fixing that with some fetch lands. Thanks for all suggestions.

Try running some vendetta's and sign in bloods i think, because sign can draw you into kill and creatures... if you run 4 signs then essentially you only have 52 cards in your deck due to how much draw, i would drop the vamp that makes you sack and the assassin... only because im not a fan of those, all in all im sure its strong, and thank god your vamps are straight black.

0

Vampires have to be straight black in my opinion! that defeats the purpose. I could get rid of the assassin for something though

Look into puttin in Blade of the Blood Chief

0

It's not necessary. There's enough fire power as there is. The idea of this deck is to swarm. similar to elfs.

0

It sucks when there's already a clear cut vampire deck established (Viscera Seer and Kalastria Highborn), so it's tough to try to do anything vampires without at least having that combo.

all i can say is where are the consuming vapors? it was by far the best black removal out of eldrazi, every black deck should run at least 2

0
Posted 05 March 2011 at 12:31

It's not necessary. Vamps gain life on their own, also kill creatures on their own.

Very effective and fast, annoying deck. I'm fighting against it, not with it. Effective way - Shroud, infect and unblockable spells :)

IT NOT A PREFECT VAMP DECK U NEED EVERY VAMP TO WORK WITH ONE OTHER. ONE BOOST THE OTHER THEY ATTACK IN PACKS NOT ONE BY ONE! AND UR SPELL DONT PROTECT THEM VAMPIRE FROM STRONG THREATS! LET UR VAMPS POWER EACH OTHER UP AND SPELLS TO BACK THEM UP! (PS) IM NOT YELLIN I LIKE WRITIN IN CAPS

i like this deck but prefer my deck and think my deck plays quickly as well give it a look

Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=154916

and i would remove doom blade add a grasp of darkness and three dark rituals to make your vamps play even quicker ive double summoned first turn with dark ritual and you could probably triple summon first turn with it if you have the right cards
