Deck Description

A very tricky deck.

Main 2 cards are:
1. Bazaar Trader
2. Sleeper Agent

All most every other card in the deck is to feed these 3 cards.
My opponent will want to deal with Bazaar Trader and Sleeper Agent...and I will be focused on slowly making him lose life.

Please look at the "How to Play" section to see what is going on.
Basically, your opponent is going to slowly kill himself. 2 and 4 damage at a time.

How to Play

Bazaar Trader + Act of Treason = Permanently steal one of your opponent's creatures

Bazaar Trader + Act of Treason + Vampiric Link = Permanently steal one of your opponent's creatures and gain life every time you attack with it.

Bazaar Trader + Bronze Bombshell = Opponent takes 7 damage

Bazaar Trader + Bronze Bombshell + Death Watch = Opponent takes 11 damage

*********************************************************************************

Sleeper Agent = Opponent takes 2 damage every turn

Sleeper Agent + Vampiric Link = Opponent takes 2 damage every turn plus can not damage you.

Sleeper Agent + Stab Wound = Sleeper Agent becomes 1/1 and opponent takes 4 damage every turn.

*********************************************************************************

Wall of Souls. Your opponent will want to try and attack with Sleeper Agent, every turn. Right? Well, look at what Wall of Souls does!! Basically, your opponent will be forced to play some removal spell for Sleeper Agent!

Lighting Bolt and Bump in the Night for extra damage while your opponent is too busy dealing with Eidolon/Sleeper Agent/Bazaar Trader.

Vampiric Link and Stab Wound stall your opponent's creatures and negate damage Sleeper Agent will do to you.

Deck discussion for Sleeper Agent's Act of Treason

Tell me what you guys think!

Low mana curve.
Very solid mana occurrence.
Tricky combos...offering more than one way to win.

I think it has potential!

Looks good, just be careful what you play while eidolon is out. He hurts you too

1

Thanks. That is the iffy card in the deck.
Idea is for my opponent to be forced to nuke Bazaar Trader and/or Sleeper Agent. And if they do, Eidolon will punish them for doing so.

Sort of...damn if you do and damn if you don't.

What about these two cards?

Festering Wound (to put on their Sleeper Agent, for added pain)
and
Wall of Souls (to punish my opponent for trying to attack and kill off his Sleeper Agent)?

I could take out the Eidolon...but what else?

I like wall of souls. I have a deck that uses them as its only creatures (http://www.mtgvault.com/drakeraenes/decks/pay-in-blood/). Festering wound is also a nice touch too. My thing is if you play with stuff like eidolon, you had best have a way to do even more damage to the opponent than they can to you

Hello, jessie... I have been looking at a lot of your decks recently, and most of them are really good. would you mind taking a look at my standard morph deck?

Then you would of noticed that I do not make standard decks...but LOVE morph cards.
Will take a look. Definitely.

Standard morph?! Wizards, you got something right!

Seriously though ... this deck needs a nasty wall effect more than Mr. Eidolon, who punishes everyone. Can you imagine very many decks with a lower mana curve than yours? Even a dedicated aggro deck will have less issues than yourself.

wall of bone.

looks like a solid deck.

Call me crazy, but how exactly does bazaar trader+act of treason= stealing creatures? Am I missing something, because I don't think it does....

Mind taking a look at one of mine?

Of course I don't mind.
And I was thinking maybe Wall of Souls to block the Sleeper Agent.

Bazaar Trader and Act of Treason.
Have Trader in play.
Use Act of Treason to gain control of a creature your opponent has.
Once it is in your control, tap Bazaar Trader.

Trader says, "Target player gains control of a creature that you control"
Well, since you have control of his creature because of Act of Treason, you use Bazaar on yourself.
Meaning, instead of gaining control of it for one turn, you gain full control of it for the entire game.
It does work.

Almost as funny as hitting a simic manipulator with it's own ability after nabbing it with act of treason.

Indeed, indeed. :)

You see, when that happens ... by the end of the game, the red player will have more simic cards than the poor blue/green player.

I wish I could take credit for it...but it has been around awhile, now.
I just added the Sleeper Agent to it.

Which is friggen hilarious when combined with stab wound. Those cards were made for each other.

1
Posted 13 October 2014 at 02:08

Yep. lol
Sleeper Agent becomes a 1/1 creature that deals 4 damage to your opponent, every turn.
And he attacks and you only take 1 damage. 4 damage vs. 1 damage. Definitely a winner.

I thought about adding Festering Wound, for extra insult :)

Nice. What about Wall of Souls to block Sleeper Agent?
Or Festering Wound to put on one of opponent's creatures?
Thinking very much of removing the Eidolon cards.

You very much should. Presently they are little more than a hindrance.

1

Delirium is solid.
Wall of Bone
Wall of Souls
Festering Wound

Will do the Wall of Souls
It is chump blocking excellence.
Opponent will want, very much, to get rid of Sleeper Agent...and attack EVERY turn with it.
I will punish him for doing so.

Mwahahahaha.

And Furnace of Rath!!!
Doubles damage.
Kill one Effigy, use it to kill another Effigy, use it to kill another Effigy (all creatures will be Effigy with Mirrorweave), then target it all to Stuffy Doll...which will redirect and double it to my opponent.

I hate to be the baron of bad news but I do not like this deck.

The sleeper agent combos are simply extravagant, but the moment that guy dies you are in trouble. Not only that, but you will probably take a 2 for 1 card loss.

Death Watch actually is not good with Stab Wound.

Combo's are nasty business but they have weaknesses:
1. The combo pieces need to be good on their own.
2. You need tutor cards and/or cards that can counteract removal
3. And/or the combo needs to cripple your opponent... as in the game is over within a turn or 2, or you nailed massive control.
4. If you can, watch the CMC. A 5-6-7 drop should end the game, but it takes a long time to get there.

I feel some examples are necessary for you to fully grasp these remarks:

1. Lodestone Amulet + Prophet of Kruphix: Not only do you untap all lands and creatures every upkeep, but anytime you cast an instant or creature(now have flash), your creatures gain hexproof ueot. Those dead draw elves are now better than counterspells for targeted removal... Fauna Shaman, Elvish Piper, etc.

2. Cinder Pyromancer + Chandra Spitefire + shock: Cinder Pyromancer pings 2 damage. The spitfire is now a 10/3 flyer. Assuming, they can't block the spitfire... 14 damage for 1 red mana. I once did 60 something damage in a turn with 5 mountains (also had a guttersnipe out). I literally had like 2 life and the other guy had 50 something. He lost.

4. Inundate + Eternal Witness: Return all nonblue creatures to there owners hands (that includes ewit). Cast Ewit, put Inundate back into your hand. Rinse and Repeat to lockdown any nonblue creature based deck... Glen Elendra Prankster can also abuse Eternal Witness.

5. Any creature with doublestrike + Loxodon Warhammer + Cradle of Vitality. Let's just say that creature is a 5/2 with the warhammer. For 2 plains and 2 colorless you: gain 15 life, do 15 combat damage with trample, and the creature is now a 20/17.

*****You must must must have tutors or extensive draw*****

1

Not going to disagree with you, friend :)
Will add some Tutors.

I apologize if I came off a little snobby, but I felt I could make a more compelling case with examples.

I'm gonnna make another deck at some point. Black and Red. Sadistic Hypnotist + Act of Treason. For 3 mana, you kill a creature of choice and your opponent discards 2 cards. Toss in some more selective discard like make your opponent discard removal cards and you gain a massive advantage. Not to mention how quick black and red can mana ramp. The only problem I see with that combo is that the first card you'll want to play (Hypnotist) costs more, which makes Act of Treason a dead-ish draw. Conversely, if you play something like Mongrel Pack the turn before Sadistic Hypnotist, you can make your opponent discard his hand when you play Sadistic Hypnotist (assuming he doesn't get instagibbed).

I'm still gonna try to avoid the control colors as I tend to gravitate to control over agro.

Just here to say its nice to see a sleeper agent deck i remember the fun combos and deck ideas some friends and I came up with when we discovered that card. When I got back into MTG when RTR dropped and I saw stab wound that made me think of sleeper agent as well, nice to see that in this deck also.

Witches lets see you see if they float then you need some other thing that floats like... (werry small rocks) or a duck.
Then you way the witch and the duck if they are equal in weight you may drown the witch

2

The reason one cares about witches floating is that are supposedly made out of wood, since they burn. Therefore, if one floats, he/she is made out of wood and is therefore a witch
