I wanted to keep it legal.
And I thought, with all of the mana ramp...I could use the Diabolic tutor to get the card in my hand, and play it asap, regardless of it costing 2 mana more than Demonic.

too soon man, too soon.

But yep, I'm goin to hell.

I still feel like the best deck that someone will one day make will be some sort of inclusion of Zombies and Wizards.

I still love love love Natural Affinity. It's a sneaky good card that your opponent probably hasn't prepped for.
1. It's great in a Grave Pact deck as an answer for Wrath of God. You cast it after the GP triggers are put on stack, and your opponent has to start sac'ing lands. Any creature-less deck relies on something like Wrath of God 9/10 times.
2. If opponent taps out, every untapped land you have can attack and do 2 damage each... Sneaky
3. Vitalize: basically doubling cube.

There are many many more things you can do with it. Just think of all the cards that have to do with creatures on the battlefield.

Ha, the name is a key component in any good deck. I know I still have a few decks that are completely done but I still need to think of a good name before I can concede that they are finished.

Yep. I have given likes to other decks based on their names alone!!!
No joke, seen their awesome deck name, and liked the deck without even looking at the cards in the deck.

Pjoshea , concede means you quit?

Not quite, it's more like I grudgingly admit that I cannot think of anything to add to the deck. That kinda pisses me off as I know the deck could be better but my limited card knowledge is holding it back ( I only started playing at the end of 2013). And honestly sometimes thinking of a creative name is harder than putting a deck together. So when I say that I concede that my deck is done it really means that I don't think the deck runs as optimally as possible or that deck name is not creative enough.

Nice for flavor...but not nice for the deck.
Those cards make me sack both lands and creatures.
I need lands and creatures very, very much in this deck for Pestilence.
I would end up killing my own creature and Pestilence would end up in the graveyard, which I do not want.
And it would nuke my lands. I need them to be able to pump Pestilence up.

However, it really is good flavor for the deck.
Thanks for the suggestions.

personally i think cemetery gate is better than the reesembling skeleton, since it lives through the pestilence and doesnt cost you mana to bring back. Id run 4 of it and only 3 of the skeletons. Also 4 dread seems like a lot, he very well might be sitting in your hand for awhile especially when running 3 kiss of death. Maybe drop one for a 4th drain life? Also maybe running 1 or 2 Urborg could be useful for helping your Coffers out. Anyway, nice deck, looks annoying!

How does protection from black work then? because im a little confused. I thought protection from black was "can not be targeted by black spells or blocked by black creatures etc." If so Cemetery gate would not work because pestilence is not targeting anything since it is saying each. Unless you only do four damage per turn or something less than 5.

1
Posted 20 October 2014 at 11:23

Protection means that the card cannot suffer damage from a source of the color it's protected from.
Cemetery gate will not be killed by Pestilence. Thus, keeping Pestilence around.

Even if that did not work, the Reassembling Skeletons would come back from the grave with 2 mana.
Example. Have 7 mana available. Put 5 mana into Pestilence doing 5 damage. Then pay the extra 2 mana to put into bringing back Skeletons from the graveyard. Thus, keeping Pestilence around.

Exquisite blood!!! So that you never lose life from pestilence! And switch kiss of death for sorin's vengeance! And put in urborg to make your coffers swamps!!!

1
Posted 18 October 2014 at 16:59

Kiss of Death goes with Ebola/Disease/Virus/Death.
It is the Flavor. If I were to switch it out, it would be for Soul Feast. Same spell, one less mana.
But I am trying to make the deck rich in theme.

Thus, the Kiss of Death.

The Blood, same issue. It doesn't fit the theme. But rocks!!!
I am trying to outpace the Pestilence damage to me via Kiss of Death and Drain Life.
Idea is to hurt both of us with Pestilence, and regain my life with the above 2 cards.

The Urborg, brilliant!!
Adding those now.

Thanks for putting so much thought into this deck.
Have a deck you want me to look at?

The flavor part makes sense I guess. Haha, I really like the idea though! And I love the card pestilence! And yeah, I have a new deck, but it's commander and I know you don't play commander. So you can check it out if you want.

Give me a little credit..I have come a long way in the last year, with Mtg...ever since many years of not playing.

And I have kids, whom love Adventure Time! It does rock, compared to some of the crap they want to watch!

Pestilence and creatures with Protection from black is so good. I'm not quite sure if this is how this works, but I think that bonds of agony costs 1 and you can pay a bunch of life and if you have more life then you win, but i'm not sure how it works. :)

0
Posted 19 October 2014 at 16:19

It does not cost 1.
It cost X

Example, I want my opponent to lose 10 life.
I have to pay 10 mana and 10 life.

It is very tricky.

I love these nasty stupid wicked decks.

A couple thoughts: Soul Feast is a Kiss of Death for one less mana. Going for flavor with kiss of death, or would you rather make it cheaper?

Getting around the pro creatures or indestructibles, geth's verdict is a solid 2 drop sac creature. Always have loved it. Or, if you prefer the permanent route, Grave Pact/Dictate of Erebos plays SUPER well with reassembling skeleton.

Finally, dropping exquisite blood in here negates pestilence's damage to you, and pestilence becomes "{b} target opponent and each creature he controls is dealt one damage."

Just a few ideas for consideration! Great fun deck to play, man. Reminds me of my first days of building decks.

2
Posted 23 October 2014 at 19:18

You guessed it, flavor with Kiss of Death.

Most of the deck is hampered with flavor.
Geth's Verdict is a no go. So is Dictate of Erebos...and Exquisite Blood.

Grave Pact could work...since Ebola is deadly.

Thanks for the thoughts and looking at my deck.
