Deck Description

Combo deck.
Haven't built a pure Combo deck in sometime.
So, here you guys go!
This Combo involves Goblin Recruiter + Grindstone + Mortal Combat + 20 Goblins. So, it is about as Combo as you can get.

Built around Grindstone, Goblin Recruiter, and Mortal Combat.

1. Grindstone
2. Goblin Recruiter (put 20 Goblins on top of your library)
3. Grindstone the 20 Goblins into your graveyard.
4. Mortal Combat for the win.

Diabolic Intent, Vampiric Tutor, and Demonic Tutor finds you your combo pieces.

Casual.
Kitchen Table.
Fun.
Combo.
Expensive.

Run basic lands to make the deck 350 dollars cheaper, if you desire.

How to Play

The most important part of this deck is this fact: 28 cards are involved in the Combo.

That leaves very little room for other cards.

Thus, the Goblins I pick for the deck have to be very versatile in order to disrupt/stall my opponent.

Protect my Combo...Goblins have to do it.
Kill my opponent's creatures...Goblins have to do it.
Fetch my Combo...Goblins have to do it.
Fetch my Combo from the grave...Goblins have to do it.
Disrupt my opponent...Goblins have to do it.

*********************************************************************************

For defense I have: Squee. His ability to keep coming back makes him a great blocker and damage reducer.

I want to feed my graveyard with Goblins. But I also want to have defense on my board...that is where stuff like Mogg War Marshal and Warren Weirding comes into play, as well as Mogg Fanatic and Squee. Idea is to be able to sack/nuke my Goblins but still have a few Goblins come back into play.

Weirding and Mogg Fanatic also act as creature damage/removal.

I like Weirding/Marshal combo. For 4 mana and 2 cards it puts a creature into the graveyard (counting toward 20 creature requirement of Mortal Combat) + gets you 4 1/1 creatures that can chump block.

Vexing Shusher makes sure your combo goes off for the win.

Boggart Birth Rite. It helps buy me back Goblin Recruiter, a key combo card. Some smart ass might nuke Recruiter as soon as he enters play...so I need a graveyard fetch card. Boggart Birth Rite helps in that aspect.

Goblin Matron. Duh. She fetches you Goblin Recruiter.

Goblin Ringleader. Helps you find Goblin Recruiter as well as gets you your Goblin Tribal cards. In short, fills your hand with cards to play.

It is so combo heavy that it will never work!
A Johnny deck for sure.
I wish it had search engines for the Grindstone and Mortal Combat.
I just can't find room!

Idk. I feel like any goblin deck gets better with like, 2x Rabblemasters. Just because f* them.

There you go.

Piledriver is better in most situations that Rabblemaster. 1 mana less, gets +2 for each other attacking goblin and doesn't make other goblins attack. However, Rabblemaster makes dudes and can win the game by itself, but the whole other goblins must attack is usually bad.

I think I've won like 2% of the games I've played against people who use Rabblemaster.

I might just be bad, or it might be that it's hard to stop something like that. >.>

Since I want my Goblins to be in the graveyard, I feel I can safely add the Rabblemaster.

And there ya have it.

Besides, the more goblins you have, the more frustrated you opponent becomes because its generally hard to outrace a rabblemaster goblin spawning machine that throws little red and green buggers at you left and right because they get tough and everywhere.

True enough. It just sucks when Rabblemaster forces my other goblins to attack into Thalia or Deathrite.

I do, with incinerator and pyrokinesis, but the Karakasing Thalia back to your hand and Aether Vialing it back in is real, and it hurts.

I agree with you.

And that is why I am on this site soooo much!
It is my Magic Outlet.

Mind checking this one out?
It has spoilers for new Dragons of Tarkir!
In particular the nasty combo of Dragon Tempest and Assault of the Dragons

Mtgvault does not have the card list available...that is why I do not have my deck up.
It is mainly the rough plan/idea.
Sorry.
I need to go ahead and make most of the deck minus the new cards.

There. It now has 51 out of the 60 cards in the deck.
Mind taking another look and seeing what I might need to add?

you have black in a vintage deck might as well add a few vintage tutors add an urborg, tomb of yawgmoth and you can run badlands and fetches to make this deck really nasty/ expensive lol

only 1 vampiric tutor and run 1 demonic tutor they are restricted to 1 each in vintage

Okay. Will change it.

Since it's casual you could run 4 Grindstone and 4 Painter's Servant just to have the option to infinite mill them if you need to.

Where to put Servant though?

0

In the sideboard. Just put it in over whatever card sucks for your current matchup.

After all, that is how you sideboard, you take out the bad stuff and put in the good stuff.

Awesome Recruiter works well with mortal Kombat but I'd be afraid it would be too slow for me, hence i run spirits

Good idea though ;) Maybe run some draw power? Browbeat for example...?

This is kind of random, but why is Warren Wierding listed under sorcery instead of tribal sorcery?
