No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Creature Challenge # 10. Goblins. What is not to love? Fast, savage, dumb, ruthless little creatures. By turn 5 they are doubling in number every turn. And they are bringing direct turn to keep them from being unblocked. Lackey, Siege, Instigator, and Krenko may be the best army makers of any creature cards in Magic.

Can they outpace and out burn the other Creature types in the 12 Deck Creature Challenge tourney? How will they fair against Humans or Beasts? Angels or Vampires? Merfolk or Thopters?

Please, please, please...check out my other decks. I want to be better. To make more consistent, winning, well rounded decks. I want advice. Help out! And if I can help with any of your decks, just ask!!

How to Play

Lackey is the power house. So is Instigator. Unblocked Lackey equals putting out any one of my Goblins into play. An Instigator unblocked equals 2 goblin cards into play.

*Special note on Warren Instigator. If he inflicts combat damage on the opponent you get to put 2 goblin cards from your hand into play. You pick your first Goblin Card and put into play. You play Goblin Chieftain. Chieftain gives your goblins +1/+1. Warren Instigator is now a 2/2 creature hitting in his second strike. You now get to put another creature into play from your hand!!

Goblin Ringleader when your hand depletes. It replenishes your hands with Goblins. Attack with an Warren Instigator. He deals combat damage. You get to pick two goblins in your hand and put them in play. First play Goblin Ringleader. You then get to draw 4 cards and put any one of them (if they are Goblins) into play as your second goblin card to put into play, and the rest of the 4 cards (if they are Goblins) into your hand.

Lightning Bolts/War Strike/Chain Lightning/Goblin Grenade for direct damage fun. Hopefully they will kill any creatures trying to block Lackey and Instigator.

Give me some money!
lol
Joking aside, I honestly do not like Piledriver. I think he is overrated. Pure and simple. And Ether vial rocks. Super expensive, though.

Check this out, friend, and Vial is really not needed.
Turn 1. Lackey.
Turn 2. Warren Instigator. Attack with Lackey and Bring in Krenko. 1 damage.
Turn 3. Chain Lightning and Lightning Bolt blockers. Attack with Lackey and Instigator and bring in Goblin Chieftain and Siege-Gang Commander. Tap Krenko for 8 1/1 Goblins. 5 damage.
Turn 4. Tap Krenko for 16 2/2 Goblins. Now you have 16 2/2 Goblins that can attack next turn.
Plus you have a 2/2 Lackey, a 2/2 Instigator, a 2/2 Goblin Chieftain, 3/3 Siege, 11 2/2 Goblin Tokens in play that can attack this turn. 31 damage on Turn 4.
37 damage total damage on Turn 4.

Turn 5, Just on Turn 5 you are looking at 40 something damage.

I do appreciate the advice PhyrexianPossum. Please help out more, if you can! Look at my decks and look at the Creature Challenge Idea. I wanted to build 12 decks. 2 artifact. 2 red. 2 black. 2 white. 2 blue. 2 green. All creature decks. Then I wanted to battle them in a Tourney.

Anyways, any advice, on any of the decks would be greatly appreciated.

And if there are any decks you want me to look at, just drop me a link.

Thanks.

Turn 1: Mountain, Skirk Prospector, go.
Turn 2: Mountain, sac the Prospector, Play a Goblin Warchief, go.
Turn 3: Mountain, play 3 piledrivers, attack for 23. Play again?

Ugh. No. Checkmate, friend. Why I do not play Piledriver (besides him costing an arm and a leg): I despise people chump blocking a pumped up Piledriver with a 1/1 creature. Plus his low Defense of 2 makes him very easy to kill. But with that said...Lackey is a 1/1 and so is Warren Instigator and Skirk Prospector.

I will give you this, PhyrexianPossum, on My Turn 4 Example up above, a Goblin Piledriver would of been attacking for 64 damage!!! That is insane.

This is my 777 posting. That is good luck. Maybe my Creature Challenge deck theme will take off. :)

Thanks Spiffmeister! I think it will do good in the Tournament. All the decks are: Human, Angel, Vampire, Zombie, Goblin, Dragon, Myr, Thopter, Beast, Elves, Faeries, Mefolk.

As much as I hate Faeries...being overpriced and powerfully controlling...I think they have the edge.

Anyways, thanks for the support. I spend a lot of time thinking through decks...designing them...if there is any decks that you have, that I might be able to help or like, just send a link.

Yeah, I noticed, they're very well thought through!

I'm currently working on an Aztec deck, trying to be as historically correct as possible; although I'm tolerating more and more "fantasy"cards and art. For now I'm just collecting a database of potential cards I could add, after which I'll try and make a working deck (but not necessarily a winning deck. the Aztecs DID lose, anyway :p).

Take a look if you want to help out!

Hi Jessie, nice deck, again. My brother plays goblin deck with the same concept (chieftain+krenko)- annoying little bastards they are :)
I will suggest few cards he's playing. Maybe it will help you.
Quest for goblin lord. little guys grow...
Goblin Recruiter - as you don't keep it Modern - anothe way to get your Krenko/chieftain if needed
Goblin warchief - all goblins cheaper and haste
Goblin King - another goblin boss, for its mountainwalk it deserves at least a place in sideboard.
Arsonist is nice fuel for goblin grenades but not worth replacing anything.

Recruiter is banned/restricted in Vintage. I did have him in the deck. Nice suggestion on that one, hann.
And i am running Chieftain over Goblin King or Goblin Warchief, only because Chieftain gives my Krenko/Siege tokens haste.

Thanks for the suggestions!!!

If there's one thing I know. It's goblins. Recruiter is banned in legacy, he's completely legal in vintage.

Also if you don't like piledriver getting chump blocked maybe add some barbarian rings?

If you want to give a living hell to all blue decks, I suggest using Goblin Piledriver. He surely rapes your wallet, but he is one big damn bomb.

Phyrexian Possum suggested it too.

I just extremely hate Piledriver being chumped blocked by a 1/1. I hate it!!! But it is freaking awesome.

I despise running 1 copy of a card in a deck. But, sure, couldn't hurt. Thanks for the advice, guys.

Why do you despise it? If it's about constancy, run Goblin Matron.

-1

My reasoning is this...if a card is good enough to put in your deck, then at least run 3 of them.
Goblin Matron is good. I remember when she came out, everyone hated her. Now I see half the decks on this site run her. Go figure.

Also PLEASE 4 Goblin Matron! Take out a ringleader, a wizard, and two instigators.

Since Urza's Saga is my favorite, and Matron is in Saga...I guess I will add her. :)

Running 3 copies of almost every Goblin now...but Matron should add versatility in that I can get any Goblin that I need in my hand, to play the next turn. I agree with you on that.

Thanks for the advice PhyrexianPossum!
