Deck Description

50 Shades of Gray...get it?
The movie just came out people!

If not, ask your wife or girlfriend.

Casual, cheap, fun, easy to understand deck.
Meant for casual Legacy table play.

How to Play

Very easy, this deck.

Two steps to winning:
Step 1. Remove opponent's threats with Duress, Hymn, and Edict.
Step 2. Kill your opponent with Specter, Gray, and Corrupt.

Idea is to suck your opponent's life away with Devotion.

Nevinyrral's Disk is a backup, if something goes wrong.
Nuke the board and start over.

*********************************************************************************

Turn 1. Duress
Turn 2. Nantuko Shade
Turn 3. Hypnotic Specter
Turn 4. Nevinyrral's Disk
Turn 5. Gray Merchant
Turn 6. Sack Nevinyrral's Disk to nuke the board
Turn 7. Corrupt

This example has Gray and Corrupt resulting in:
Me: 33
Opponent: 7

That doesn't include the possibility of Hypnotic Specter dealing damage and forcing opponent to discard OR the potential of Nantuko Shade to be pumped up tremendously.

Probably right with the Coffers...wanted to keep it cheap though.
And I thought of Obliterator...same issue with Coffers.

Whip...it goes with the movie theme, doesn't it?
Where to fit it in at, though?

Would you put in Nighthawk over Specter?

It depends on the match up. Nighthawk is better against aggro. Specter is better against control.

I put in Specter, Duress, and Hymn to Tourach in for other people's planeswalkers/artifacts/enchantments.
Nothing sucks worse than not losing the game because you don't have an answer to a single artifact, you know?
Thus the discard aspect of this deck.

I would play distress over duress mainboard. Paying the extra mana is worth the versatility.

Word of warning- You can't answer everything with discard. If your opponent top top decks a bomb and has the mana to play it, there is nothing you can do to stop it. Also, I suggest playing Phyrexian Arena. Card advantage is paramount in this style of deck and it fuels your devotion.

Oh, this deck is hilarious. Jessie, you always come up with the most awesome of ideas.
Highborn Ghoul is an early game drop with handy ability and high black devotion. Consider it. Maybe a place in the sideboard could work.

By the way Jessie, this deck made by s0rinmark0v is pretty cool. It uses a whole different kind of tactic with burn spells. Check it out if you have time.
