Deck Description

Inspiration? Satyricon.
The song the Pentagram Burns made me randomly think that I haven't updated my burn list on here, so I figured I would post it. And as tribute, I named the list after the song.

Deck discussion for The Pentagram Burns

no to dark confidants, you want playsets of lightning helix and boros charm as a must

Yes to Dark Confidants, and I would like to have a playset of both of those, but my list is actually running quite smooth as it is.

With my very meager experience in the Modern format, the only thing I can think of, this moment, is Isochron Scepter. With all those crunchy, tasty 2 CMC's of insta-goodness, why not put em' on a stick? As far as Eidolon of the Great Revel goes, you wouldn't burn yourself to smoldering ashes. Although, I could be missing something entirely, if so, sorry
^_^

As cool as Isochron Scepter can be, it's a bit too slow, like in Legacy. It's a trade-off of explosiveness for an extended damage threshold, which can be good in certain MUs since I don't have Sulfuric Vortex at my disposal, but I find Bob digging me deeper to do just a hair better.
And Eidolon does hurt me a lot, but it hurts the opponent a lot more usually.

Wow, you've been quite busy. All of a sudden I check your profile on here and there's like, 6 new decks for me to mull over. It's like Christmas!

I can only imagine this running even smoother with the old fetchland reprints coming to Khans. This deck is pretty damn suicidal. It's fast enough to make it work, but I still wonder if there'd be some way to wiggle in some healing effects. What that would be, I'm not really sure, it's more me thinking out loud than anything.

Yeah... I got stir crazy, and tweaked a lot of things around. It felt like Christmas to be doing so much tinkering with Magic again!

I actually don't think it will be quite so drastic for this deck actually, the fact I have better fetches in Burn is like having better fetches in Bob Fish.
This deck might actually be the most suicidal one I've ever used I think... It's so self-destructive, but that's okay because it's more destructive of those around it. Hahaaaa!
I can only really see Lightning Helix being an option for this, and even then I'd only be able to sneak in one more. My concern is less on survivability, and more on destructive capability. The only decks that would make me want healing available all use Red, so I have Dragon's Claw for that. :D
