I feel as though I just had a friend drunkenly stumble at my door before walking off. That gave a good laugh, I needed that I think.

Alright, now that I'm sober (although suffering through a bit of a hangover -_-) I can actually comment on this thing.

When Erebos first was spoiled I thought people would be making EDH decks with him left and right, but it turns out people just put him in their decks and used other generals. Blah. It's nice and refreshing to see someone actually use the God of Death as their general. I think that's what my drunk self was trying to say.

As expected the deck is packed with 'death'. I do have some suggestions though. For one, I think Death Baron is an auto-include for any zombie horde deck. I think another zombie you might want to consider is Arty's favorite, Yixlid Jailer. Finally, I think of all the 'god weapons' the Whip of Erebos has the best pairing with its owner. The lifelink will extend the gap between you and your opponent, and gives you more fuel to draw cards with Erebos. Also the ability to "whip" dudes back from the graveyard for a turn is kind of amazing in practice.

I really like this though. I mean, REALLY like it. Erebos is one of my favorite gods, and honestly has grown to be one of my favorite cards in a long time so this is seriously just a blast to see.

Drink a powerade, and eat a bacon sandwich.

I thought so too, but even I wound up just throwing him in things rather than building for him. It feels good to use him as he should have been.

<_< Can't believe I forgot Death Baron. Yixlid Jailer is quite counter-intuitive for this design though, the loss of my recursive creatures would be too much of a tradeoff. If anything I would stick Reassembling Skeleton in here rather than that. The Whip however is a pretty damn good idea.

I am glad you like it, Erebos is my second favorite(Thassa wins man, Thassa wins) of the gods, and MBC is always enjoyable. Though to be honest, I'm more enthralled by my Marchesa projects right now, there are so many possibilities it's staggering.

Also, I shall be leaving for a week or so in two days. I might get on Facebook periodically, but I can't promise much.

Hrm, I hadn't seen the anti-synergy with Yixlid...So yeah nevermind on that.

Thassa huh? I gotta say my very favorite god (surprise, surprise) is Athreos.

Oh, where ya goin? Any place cool? =]

Atheros is pretty cool, but Thassa is just epic to me.

And where I'm going is kind of cool, but it's also going to be stressful... I'm going to be at a competition.

Bow of Nylea definitely has the best pairing with its owner. Its owner is just really bad unfortunately. Well the Bow is also bad so...yeah.

Well, I do believe Julius said it best; Veni, vidi, vici.

I have to agree on both points Dag, they match so well, but they suck sooooo much. :|

By the way, just realized how absurd Killing Wave is with Erebos. I also just realized that I have both those cards in my Seizan EDH, and still haven't had that interaction happen yet...

Yeah, it's pretty hilarious against Brololo especially. Usually the Brololo player has the option of shrugging it off quite easily, but when they can't gain life because I don't have to get colors?

Also, I'm quite surprised you haven't run into that yet. I've found myself tutoring up Killing Wave quite frequently using this, it's a massive bloodletting at worst, and a wonderfully efficient sweeper usually.

I think one of the most devious uses of Killing Wave came from (Surprise!) Arty. He was playing his Ashling the Extinguisher EDH (which he needs to upload...ehem) and played Killing Wave for 2. He also had a Massacre Wurm on the table.

YES SOMEONE ELSE WITH AN EREBOS EDH!
ok sorry i had to get that out of my system. i built one a couple months after erebos came out, and ever since i have been wondering why noone else has one, it's just sooooo fun and very good.
When i was thinking of getting my erebos deck, i made two very different lists. the first was a lot like this one, using pox/smokestack effects and recursive beaters. the second list had almost no creatures, prefering more removal, more discard, and a bunch of mana doublers, with only a few incredibly powerful win cons. I ended up getting the second list, but i loved both and someday may make the first one aswell.
Anyhow, i have a few suggestions. gate to phyrexia is a great, since one of the biggest weaknesses of mono black is the inability to deal with artifacts. liliana of the dark realms is also an auto-include. i was skeptical of it at first, and it only barely made the cut in my first draft, but now i wouldn't drop it for anything. in this deck it may be even more powerful, since guaranteeing land drops for bloodghast/akuta and smokestack/pox effects can be so crucial. on the subject of liliana, ravens crime is super good. you have no idea how many games it has won me. Braids also seems really good in here as just another smokestack effect. curse of the cabal and massacre wurm also seem like great fits for the deck.
overall, great deck! let me know how it treats you

Hahaaaa! I think the reason nobody does is because there are more immediately useful generals, like Cao Cao, Xiahou Dun, the ever popular Horobi, or Maga. It just became another card in 99 for a lot of people, myself included until I did this. It's really not bad, but I will admit to still preferring my Sygg, and Marchesa decks more though.
I did the same too actually, but wound up going with this one since it was more something I am generally comfortable with. Haha!

Gate to Phyrexia is actually the first card I put in the SB, it's in all of the mono-Black EDH SBs I use except for Maralen. I suppose one day I should add them...
Liliana of the Dark Realms was actually one of the cards I took out of this deck to be honest. I won't deny that she's amazing, but with this deck she actually didn't impress me all that much. I only really use her in Jarad to be honest.
Raven's Crime is in the SB, it's sooooo amazing! I usually take out Cadaverous Knight for it, I should probably make that a permanent move.
Braids is one of my favorite creatures of all time, but thanks to this, she draws spiteful aggro in my group. Like, people will ignore bigger threats if I play her... I ruined her in EDH for myself essentially. The others are really good adds, I am especially interested in the idea of seeing how people would react to Curse in an EDH setting!

The deck runs quite well, and it's easily a thousand more times enjoyable than Zur, but I don't think I'll be really playing it much. I pretty much only play EDH as a big multiplayer game, and it makes every game go so painfully long. It becomes boring after a point really.

"The ever popular Horobi"

...Arty's Horobi list is the only one I've ever seen. Has there been some kind of surge that I'm unaware of?

0_o I've seen like twenty different Horobi decks. Four of them at the same shop, at the same game. Perhaps it's one of those regional things, like how we have like a million Goblin players in every format here.

That is really strange. I hope for your sake none of them see his and get ideas.

I wish there was a map of what is played where. That'd be so cool to look at =]

I don't know any of them personally, so I don't know if they have. I hope they haven't... >_<

It would be quite interesting, but it would be quite obnoxious to make such a map I think.
