I got into RUG Loam after seeing EthanLewis do a list, and him encouraging me to tinker around with it. I've had a bit of a soft-spot for it since.If ever the titles of my decks don't seem to make sense, it's probably a song, or book reference. A lot of time I'll name stuff after what I'm listening at the time of me putting it together, or the source of my inspiration.Or sometimes it's just a horrible joke, but that's because I can't possibly pretend to keep things ever on the higher side of society.

great deck! I love the card life from the loam, and works really well with seismic assault. I mostly play modern, so nice theme. If you have time could you check out my Horny squirrels deck? You'll get why it's called that if you see the deck. :)

Thanks! And I'll get around to checking it in a bit, apparently I got a comment backlog over the last few days. ._.;
Yeah it's weird when that happens. :)
"Or sometime it's just a horrible joke", me, every time.I've been wanting to build a Loam deck for the longest time, I just never like how they look. I really like Faithless Looting in here. Gosh, I may just make one now, I love Faithless Looting... think think thunk. Thank you sir for that amazing idea that never even crossed my mind. I might use black, and some other stuff and things. :D
Jund Loam is pretty good, not as good as it used to be, but still pretty dang sick. I say go for it Dag! I'd love to see what you come up with.
I'm going to have to test this deck a bit, see how Loam really works. Thing is, I can't afford Tarmogoyf, so I don't use it in any lists. I've always liked the idea of Knight of the Reliquary in Loam though, so I've tried Naya as well.I also really don't like Seismic Assault, even though that is the deck, lol.Give me a week and I'll have a couple versions up.Edit: I really really really like blue though, lol.
I think a BUG version might work once Khans is out. Delve could work wonders, maybe.

Always been a big RUG Loam fan in Modern. I have a friend on Cockatrice that plays almost exclusively RUG Loam and crushes with it. I'm actually surprised more people haven't caught onto this deck yet.Your list looks pretty tight. I would rather be running Remand over Rune Snag personally though. And i might even wanna slide in a few Spell Snare if possible. Snare has been killing it in modern for me lately as a 1-2 of. It's not a card i want to see multiples of usually, but it can be huuuge when played at the right time, and there are so many good things to be countering at 2 mana in Modern.
I don't think I've actually found somebody who hasn't loved it since their first experience with it, the deck is just so cool. I'm not surprised that your friend is crushing with it, I think most of my losses have been because of user error(bad reads and nine counters makes me a saaaad panda)...I'm not really all that surprised by it actually, graveyard hate is so easy to find, and it's fairly easy to cripple this deck if you know what you're doing.I tried Remand for a while, and really loved it, but I just keep coming back to Rune Snag as it's a more permanent solution. And it synergizes so well with the rest of the deck that really Remand is the only thing that could challenge it. I super loved getting a counter, /and/ a Dredge trigger.Cthulhu fhtagn, Spell Snare would be perfect here... I have no excuse for why it hadn't crossed my mind. Thanks Jack!
