Gut Shot is due to the fact that I can't look out my window without seeing Delver pretty much, and killing it before it flips is just wonderful. Meltdown is something I've tinkered with before, and it was really fun against Affinity, but I wouldn't be able to decide between it and Shattering Spree to be honest. They're both soooo good, and the contrasting mana costs make it hard to really pick which is better. This deck was based off an idea deck Stephen Menendian used for an article back in the height of CounterTop, and I kind of ran with it. The curve has changed to reflect the times, and the general spell selection adapted too, going for a more versatile and compacted list. It's honestly one of my favorite decks, and one of the only times I get to play shenanigans like Natural Order on Dryad Arbor into Progenitus. The deck is stupidly fun to play, I highly recommend it man. One thing I've been considering trying is -1 Wish -1 Island +2 Izzet Charm. Because that spell is too good to not want to play.

XD Very nice Blackfire, and there's nothing quite like shutting your opponent out of a game is there?Liliana's Caress has been an option before, not one I've tried, but if you were to try it in place of anything I'd suggest Tangle Wire.
Your name is EroticFishCakes, I think if anybody should be laughing so hard it should be everybody who sees that. And I do believe your breath has run away with along with the others.@Backfire Phoenix; I'd apologize to your neighbors, but I think it's worth it XD
I've been at the Xbox One tour stop in Atlanta, just got back in. Oh my god I'm going to disappear onto Killer Instinct when the console releases. I made semifinals in the tournament for it I got in, and took third. And that's awesome man, I had known you were engaged, but didn't know you guys had the wedding already. Nothing but best wishes man!
XD I was worried I'd get a slap on the wrist for the name, thank god for your senses of humor.
Holy crap congratulations!
360, I've got the gamertag "BH Psychosis". Online for that game is probably the most fun I've had playing a game in a long time. And the money is more or less why I'm trying to keep to online play mostly for magic. Even Modern costs what some of the more expensive Legacy decks did...
School, crappy job, and real life catching up to me in general basically. And then all gaming was temporarily on the back burner because of GTA V.
Yeah, but if I do that I inevitably wind up making Pox as you know. And honestly I didn't expect you to accept on the forum, I was more thinking that if you got back into magic it'd be nice to talk to you about it again.
That's one I have no testing experience with, but it could very well work. I think if you were to test it, my suggestion would be something like-1 Charbelcher-1 Cabal Ritual+2 Carnival of SoulsIt'd allow you to have more or less the same ramp potential, and only moderate dilution of win conditions during testing.
I know what you mean, I no longer play Reanimator, and barely play my Lands deck in our group unless money is on the line. Then all is fair in the format agreed upon :) I can also agree with the idea of the Jantelov/Janteloven, and quite inline with something I've had to say a few times recently; " People may like to be painted as one in a million, and they may be right, but there are roughly seven billion people right now. "
Thanks, and I still kind of like Grim better in certain moments, it's less efficient yes, but being able to target creatures, and ermagerd that flavor.
Colors are no issue as you say, my main concern is efficiency. Two of the ones I've considered the strongest options are Delver of Secrets, and Goblin Guide. My concern with Delver is that I only have twenty-five spells, and in Legacy I feel uncomfortable at anything below thirty.
No, I'm using this as a base to port it from Legacy to Modern. And gotcha, typos in MtG can be quite confusing sometimes, thanks for clearing it up.
Yes, yes there are, but I'm trying to make RUG Loam control work in another format. Why Grixis spells would interest me in this deck is beyond my comprehension.
There's this great thing called playing for a long time, where you get this weird buildup of lands, but lose track of spells you lent to friends. Also because this is basically just a weird port from Legacy into Modern.
You know I never actually played the mono-Black version of Spanish Inquisition, I had already played normal Belcher by that point, and wound up with a two land build using Land Grants. Then I wound up using the weirdness that was Pact SI, and that was when the deck really brought out the soft cushions in my opinion.
Well WinterVoid for instance has it easy when wanting to use Tangle Wire, it has twelve cards it can tap without even beginning to notice, but those more like what EthanLewis used would keel over from Tangle Wire almost as much as your enemy would. The ideas employed in Pox is that every terrible thing you do is equal, but you capitalize on them as much as your opponents fail. The archetype could easily have been called Animal Farm; "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".
It is indeed, but its a choice you have to lean heavily into.
They usually are I've noticed, as a lot of the cruelest decks to play take a lot of skill, and thought, which usually leads to the more interesting people picking them up.Also I can't tell you how many times an obvious choice was in front of me, and I didn't notice it because I'm as sleep deprived as I usually am... Tea makes the world go around for me. And you're always welcome to whatever advice I can give, as narrow of a field as that is.
