Deck Description

I\'ve modified the deck a bit so that it works better. get all the tokens you can on altar of shadows and get out doubling season so that you can make 2 tokens for every one mana, if you want you can put the soulgorgers in there if you want to deal with feeding him and if you dont like toying with an opponnent then just get darksteel reactor from the sideboard for a 4-6 turn win. i personally dont have fun with that but in tournaments it kills.Room for improvement so please give suggestions

Deck discussion for Frozen Darksteel

I don't understand your land choice due to the fact that you only need blue or green. Phyrexian Soulgorger needs creatures fed to it and there is 8 creatures including itself? If I read this correctly you have a 62 card deck but there are duplicates of Darksteel Citadel. Might drop the snow/artifact focus and go with one or the other. I see what your trying to do, but you need a focus in order for it to work.

the phyrexian soulgorger doesnt need creatures because i have the power conduit to bump its age counters onto darksteel reactor. the darksteel citadel is used to bring out stuff, its a land after all. and the lands that i have are only blue or green. they dont have any lands that are both.

ooooo i see what your saying with the darksteel citadel. theres only four in the deeck but its counted as a land and artifact so its in both sections

In regards to the Phyrexian Soulgorger, from what I've read, you will still need to sacrifice at least one creature a turn. You do not get to interrupt in the middle of the upkeep cost and change the number of counters. The ability that triggers "knows" how many counters were on it just before the trigger is placed on the stack. You could remove the counter after the triggered ability is on the stack, but the triggered ability will have already counted it. With Doubling Season, it's worse.

i believe though that the age counters and the sacrificing of the creature are 2 sepparate things. the age counter is placed and then it sacrifices the creature. besides ive got spawning pit if that doesnt work

Copied straight from a judge: "Cumulative upkeep is a single triggered ability. You will carry out all actions of this triggered ability at one time, when this single ability resolves." You can't remove the counter before the second ability resolves because both sections of the ability resolve at the same time

alright, i decided to remove a bunch of cards. after playing with it alot i decided that i would lessen the cards in the deck and put some sideboard cards. ive been playing and even a WOG Solitary confinement and Form of the dragon all in the same game didnt hurt it. (it was one of those enduring ideal decks) hope you guys like the changes

i like the idea, if it runs pretty solid than i say dont change it, but keep an eye out for other lands to substitute...
