Deck Description

This deck is inspired by movies like The Lost Boys, Queen of the Damned, and The Underworld trilogy. It also draws a lot of its feel from one of my favorite videogames; Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. I enjoy the under-dog-ish side of the vampires, as opposed to the aristocratic/superiority side of them. So, I wanted to create a deck that painted a picture of vampires taking their last stand. I'm working towards a deck that feels aggressive, reckless and somewhat desperate, up until the vampires' moment of triumph, when their leader appears, allowing them to take flight...

Since this is my first deck, it is (obviously) still a work in progress, and will be refined as I play with it, uncover it's weaknesses, and expand my card collection.

How to Play

The idea of this deck is for it to be fast and aggressive, keeping the opponent on the defensive. The basic strategy is to get as many cheap vamps on the field as possible. Then, hammer the opponent player directly to boost the vamps that benefit from directly damaging the player; using Crossway vampire to clear the path. Spells like Elixer of Immortality and Grave purge are saved in case the vampires start dropping en mass, thinning the ranks. That's pretty much it, for now. It's a pretty straightforward deck. I'll update with more insights as I play.

Deck discussion for Blood Rising

After a few plays I am happy to see that it is fairly balanced, and handles itself very well against a variety of opponents. I could use a couple of more grave emptying spells, to boost the odds of drawing one. Also, I could possibly swap out a vamp or two for some more buffs or offensive instants. For now I will leave it as is until my card pool expands.
