(FYI: this deck will be standard on sept. 28, the release of khans, this site just doesn't like new cards =S)At first glance, the outlast mechanic is just bad. It's slow and stops your creatures from doing anything useful for a turn or more. Although, when you look again, there are a lot of creatures with good effects that already have +1/+1 counters or can easily have them added with flexible cards like feat of resistance or abzan charm.
My idea was to get out creatures that are good on their own, and then let the outlast guys do their thing and buff everything already on the field. this way, the downside of outlast being slow on it's own is reduced and all the upside is increased.for example, you have a mer-ek nightblade (tapped with a +1/+1 counter), a siege rhino, and brave the sands on the field and your opponent swings. You respond to attacks with feat of resistance to give your siege rhino +1/+1 and now kill off two of your opponents attackers. The deck allows for a lot of combat tricks when needed and if not, to just flat out overrun your opponent if they let up in the slightest.
