How to Play

So, at the beginning in pretty likely to get a heal card and some mana so usually heal alot and play creatures until I get something big and by the time I can play serra avatar if usually have at least 50 health. I also really like the serra avatar/archon of redemption combo. Then when I have enough creatures in play true conviction and I also have some pretty good artifacts like angels feather and Elspeth also helps me gain life alot while giving me tokens. It's a pretty simple deck, you just gain life and amass creatures until I get serra avatar.

Deck discussion for Passive, gain life

Mmmmm... too cards... and only one Serra's Avatar. You have 1/60 chance of drawing. That's respond to the chance of 1.67% of drawing. Too low. adding 3 more avatar (4 in total) you achive a 6.67% chance (one avatar every 7.5 cards). In this manner you can manage also some removal like oblivion ring.
Also i suggest Martyr of Sands and serra ascendent. And some more creatures with lifelink. Take 4 oblivion ring and if i may suggest, Curse of Exhaustion is a cage for the opponent.

The deck is very inconsistent. You have far too many 1-of's. Adding more copies of cards improves your chances of drawing them. Going just by the title alone, this deck looks like it wants to just stall/play defense to gain a large amount of life, which makes Archangel, Knight of Glory, Thran Golem, and especially Juggernaut out of place here, among others that I haven't listed. You should get playsets of the important lifegain cards like Cathedral Sanctifier and good blockers like Guardians of Akrasa and Angelic Wall. Another awesome card to improve lifegain decks is Rhox Faithmender. Get some of those ASAP.

And you don't need to just stall until you get life, then start attacking. You can turn all that life into your win condition. I'd invest in at least 1 more Serra Avatar, and Serra Ascendant is great too. The prime creature that lets you win with a lot of life though is Felidar Sovereign. He's a 4/6 Vigilance Lifelink, so he serves the double duty of blocking and gaining you life, but his other ability awesome. If he's on the field and you have 40 or more life, you win right then & there.

So overall, I'd just recommend streamlining and refine the list, and focus on getting more copies of the important cards.

Great suggestions but I'm kind of limited on cards to put 2 or 3 in of everything
