Deck discussion for W/R aggro

If ur playing white red black u need more removal. so brimstone volley and other stuff. i would do a human/vampire focus. I would run that red/black new vamp with the sacrifice mechanic.

Why not switch the shocks out for lightning bolt? same cost and effect but it does one more damage.

Gather the Townsfolk doesn't really fit in this deck to me. You would much rather play other spells for 2 mana. I also think you may want to reconsider the Doomed Travelers as well, you already have 8 very strong 1-drops but what purpose does the Doomed Traveler serve? It is a value 1-drop, but the token creation doesn't really give you an advantage. I am a huge fan of Rally the Peasants, and think it could fit nicely into this deck. I'd love any input you have for my Lich deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=297491

@pyroklepto: Uhh, Doomed Traveler fills one-drop slots 9-12.

Nice deck, Jarrett. With Stormkirks, Stormbloods, and Blademasters, I strongly suggest adding volt charge for slagstorm. While slagstorm will wipe your board, volt will take out their key creature (most important non-Titanic creatures in standard have toughness <3 anyway) and boost your own board. You can also use it for more life disparity if you're trying to get ahead in the aggro race.

One problem. Generally RDW and its offshoots, of which this is one, have a 4 CMC curve-topping finisher. You have Urabrask and Elesh. In an aggro deck, which this is, you should never still be playing by turn 7, when you'd drop Elesh. On turn 5 with Urabrask, the haste won't matter because you'll have your creatures down already, and the tapping is only marginally effective. I'd suggest one of 3 spots here. First, Hero of Oxid Ridge or Hellrider; very similar creatures. Both offer effectively 4 hasty power, a form of evasion to your creatures, and an effective 1 power boost. If you're running against decks without many creatures, you'll want the Hero. But the 3 toughness on the Hellrider is very useful in a standard with plenty of 2 power and 2 damage things. The last option for the 4 spot would be Chandra, but she's more of a control card.

Good building, and good luck!

Very Nice Deck, but as was mentioned earlier, if you're still playing this deck on turn 7, (when you drop elesh) yuo're having problems. however, I'd reccomend Mikaeus the Lunarch for a good replacement, for that boosting potential, while being able to drop it efficiently at any stage of the game.
I'd appreciate any help, you could give me with my deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=291890

I'd remove 3 markov Blademaster for 3 Mirran Crusaders. The getting stronger is a great mechanic but until she gets stronger she's essentially a 2/1 which can be shut down extremely easily. Mirran's protects is also very helpful against many decks. Otherwise looks like a solid idea. It seems to be human tribal, might want to add 4x Adaptive Automaton to get the humans really hitting.

Agreeing strongly with thewuest here in regards to Elesh Norn and Urabrask. They're beasts, yeah, but in a deck like this they are NOT fast enough. thewuest has the right idea: Heroes of Oxid Ridge and/or Hellriders would be much better fits at the top of your curve. If you intend on keeping the Champion of the Parish in there, I would lean toward Heroes for more humans. Plus, Battlecry would make your little 1/1 token guys a bit more threatening.

On that same note, if you're going to splash black anyway... maybe a one-of Sorin? His emblem alone would help you a lot, he's efficient and he makes his own defenders.

You definitely could use some more kill/ spells, though, so you might want to at least load up your sideboard with Go For The Throat/Dismember etc. Also, another thing I second thewuest on is replacing Slagstorm with a different burn spell. Volt Charge is a bad fit when you have nothing to proliferate, but Arc Trail, Brimstone Volley, Incinerate, even Burning Oil, would all be easy and more effective in that slot. Throw Slagstorm into your sideboard for when you face token decks or some such.

I just went back and reviewed the list. You have at least 14 guys who can be proliferated. >.< Hurr nurr nurr... I swear I can read.

Still not a big fan of Volt Charge, but that's personal preference and there's a good chance that it would in fact be useful.

Hellrider. Nuff said.

Hellrider completely outpaces hero of oxid ridge in most scenarios. If you're running against a token deck which is pretty popular it really depends on if they have any anthem effects. If they don't then your guys will trade and you get the one damage through with hellrider when with hero it would be wasted. Also I think replacing blademaster with 2 more crusaders along with taking out the shocks and adding rally the peasants is muuuch better.

very nice. I also think that hellrider would be a great addition. Maybe a few accorder paladins and a hero of bladehold for some battle-cry goodness? Fiend hunter is good for temp removal. Also, rally the peasants and rally the forces are always good win conditions in W/R aggro.

I made a very similar deck to this one myself. Check it out and see what you think, comments and suggestions welcome! : http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=301843

i like what you are foing with the deck, but with so many low cost/one drops you really ned to get some more card drawing power in there. i would probably sub out Hero of ox for some mentors of the meek and maybe get a couple of executioners hoods in there for the intimidation factor as quite a few of your guys benifit from doing damage to your opponent

avacyns collar and the dark accension reverberate flashback card would work in here

I can see where all the creatures are in here to maximize damage. But to me 10+ creatures in the deck would benefit from goblin tunneler, especially the blademaster. If you don't like the tunneler, pyreheart wolf does about the same and effects all creatures, but you don't have to throw the tunneler under the bus.

This is the w/r I have been play testing for FNMs, take a look.

I don't like the black splash for flashing back souls.. I think it cripples ur manabase too much. I would just cut the souls for more removal and a smoother manabase. Consider running 4 shocks and 2 gut shot in their place.

Check out my W/r puresteel for a sideboard options.

With the number of low cost creatures and a couple double strikes, I sort of like the idea of rally the peasants. No one really looks at it, but on turn 4 you could potentially be adding 8-10 damage to a strike. Turn 1 champ or noble, t2 gather the folk, t3 lingering, t4 rally for +10 damage on the hit. Flash it back next turn.

Burning oil could also be a good addition with flashback fitting in as well, but a more defensive oriented card.
