Turn 1 win legacy

by jarrettbeast97 on 28 June 2011

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

you don't need 4 tendrils but you do need 4 ad nauseam

you have to have both because it is a storm deck which requires the use of a storm card like tendrils...i play most of my deck turn one and then use tendrils to win...

you need both cards yes, but Jacob is right having 4 tendrills just causes more Ad Nausium pain than is neccisary. consider diabolic intent... in addition Culling the weak should be a better mana ramp than cabal ritual in this deck.

I would use 1 Tendrils, 1 Ad naus, and then add some kind of tutor, Burning wish/Grim Tutor most likely

The way this is really suppose to work is running 4 Lion's Eye Diamond ad 4 Infernal Tutor. What you do, is play Infernal Tutor ad while it is on the stack, you activate Lion's Eye Diamond for the Mana and to drain your hand of any extra land etc etc. and grab your single Ad Nauseum and go to town or grab your single Tendrils if you are ready to end the game. Atleast, thats how its suppose to run tournament wise and extremely competitively. Dunno if thats what you want, but there you go.

before that storm idea was the orignal perfect storm which runs very similar to this and im more of a nostalgic kind of guy and this brings it to me

reaping the graves would allow youi to get back creatures to use for mana again.

Needs more tendrils
Quite frankly, your deck doesnt go through cards that well, and it just doesnt get tendrils all the time

Angel's Grace will allow you to play even more of your deck, in case you need to. Worth sideboarding, at least.

Meh, I like the black/green variant that runs glimpse of nature. Seems to run more smoothly as I just drew 3 test hands that had no means of having the deck "go off".

Why Reach Through Mists over Brainstorm? Also Ponder should be in here, it's the drawing and filtering that helps this deck.

Your chance of a turn one win are very small. Also you should label this deck casual and not tournament quality as it is not. In a tournament environment this deck doesn't stand a chance.

Well, I'll be honest. I don't see this EVER winning a Legacy tournament as it is. That's because a few of the cards (Sol Ring, Mana Vault) are BANNED in Legacy and if you try to run the deck as it is, you will be disqualified. ;) haha. However, banned cards aside, it seems fine. I would definitely not want to be running Memnites and Ornithopters in the deck as they do nothing besides add to the storm count. Your average converted mana cost is pretty high too, with so many Tendrils, Fact or Fiction, and 3 Ad Nauseam. I'd add in a full set of Lion's Eye Diamond and 4 Infernal Tutor. Plus, I'd add in a bunch of cards like Brainstorm, Preordain, and Ponder but that would mean going blue as well... 2 Tendrils should be enough I think, as well. Hope this helped a bit.

thanks for pointing that out my friend was like let me fix it and i let him do it and i changed it to something better what do you think now?

0

you only need 1 Ad-Nauseam and 1 Tendrils. You don't need the moxen. what you do need is

4 Infernal Tutor
4 Ponder
4 Preordain
4 Brainstorm
4 Duress
3 Thoughtseize

and you need fetchland to improve brainstorm and ponder

You don't need Hurkyl's Recall. There are occasions where you need to bounce a gaddock Teeg or Ethersworn Canonist or even Null Rod but you build a sideboard for that.

hmmm, it looks like this is no longer your deck... your been given alot of advice, and all of it has merit, (some more so than others) but youve taken all that advice and made the old ANT deck as if it were straight off a Wizards of the Coast Jan 2010 top 8 Tournament. basicly the same deck that half the dedicated legacy players copied off each other back then. I really liked your own deck (the one you first posted on here) alot more, it was effective and origional.
