Little Different 5 Color Control

I don't know if you're working on a budget or not, but for a good 5 color mana base, i use 2 each of arcane sanctums, jungle shrines, etc. then one of each filter land. works amazingly. you can make anything you want in a couple turns most of the time. its worth half your lands coming into play tapped if its casual. but if you're worried about format, it's a standard mana base. probably not perfect for standard tourneys

I like it. Personally the only thing i would do is trade out some charms for a set of Cryptic Commands.
I'm not a fan of coming into play tapped and the only cards that really need mana that doesn't come quick are esper charm and broodmate and i don't really need to worry bout playing those till both around turn six when I almost always got all 5 colors locked down.
I was gona do cryptic but it's way out of my budget
I love the concept, but if it was me I'd find a way to get more mana into the deck (at least 23-24 land), and more of it in 5 colors. For example, currently you've got 10 spells needing black, but only 6 non-Reflecting Pool based sources for it to get you started. If you've already got the Pools, I'd actually argue in favor of more Vivid lands. Maybe something like: 4x Vivid Meadow 4x Vivid Creek 2x Vivid Grove 4x Reflecting Pool Chances are very good you'll get a Vivid + Reflecting Pool this way, and at that point your mana battles are pretty much over. A mix of filter/pain lands from there would be good to speed things up a bit. Anyway... there's my 2 cents.
I also worry about the mana base of this deck at a glance, on a budget or not i'm used to seeing 24+ lands in a control style deck. Can you get more ajani's or is that a budget thing? I like to run 3 to make sure I see one every game. You seem to have alot of creatures with high casting costs.....i understand why you wouldn't want come into play tapped lands......but I will suggest again more mana sources with your mana curve so high. What about something as simple as druid of the anima or a couple Bloom tenders so that you have some early mana accelleration and a way to get all your colors by turn 3 instead of turn 5, not to mention its a good chump blocker down the road if need be
took your guys advice, bumped the lands up to 24, and now im thinking of taking out taking wrath of god to 2 or 3 and removing broken ambitions for another agro creature and some cryptics? any ideas
a thing to consider though i offer no solution is that naya may be a threat beacuse they just keep on going, my naya deck steam rolled a deck simmilar to this one without much effort. and late game wrath of god has no effect due to spearbreaker behemoths ability. just think about it and if you find a solution please tell me.
oh and please rate my decks.
Thumbs up, looks more consistent with the new mana base....quite a steep mana curve as I mentioned previously.....your really not going until turn 4.....should be ok in standard but you may want to consider filling that void.....You have lots of removal at turn 3 but I still feel like you need something to do on turn 2. How much do you like broken ambitions? Its my least favoirte card in your deck..... However I gave you the big ol thumbs up because I like where your going with this.
in general there is no problem for this deck to not do anything on turn 2 or earlier because it will dominate later. The only problem is against certain popular decks that have extreme speed before turn 4 eg kithkin. but if you dont mind that dont change anything before testing the actual thing.
five colours hmm i have a bit of a thing for elves so i whouldnt take my advice :p but i might add a few minion reflectors as i think they can be good fun apart from that looks pretty good although im not a fan of 5 colours tbh
You only need 1 Cruel Ultimatum. I think you should add blightning, it along with cryptic command, esper charm, mulldrifter, cloudthresher, and volcanic fallout are the best T2 legal that run together.
Despite what others may say, play your broken ambitions. I play a very speedy R/G/W deck that just tramples a slower deck like this. Broken ambitions is the only way ( besides celestial purge) to keep a boggart ram-gang from hitting your dome turn two with acceleration. Your mana base is ok, but I'd play a few filter lands to help fix your mana base. After reading the other posts I see that you have added cryptic command. Good choice, every time it hits it drives your opponent nuts as they let out a sigh of disappointment. Good build. Rate my deck R/G/W to see what I mean. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=16570
again every one else cant be wrong but i think your wasting a space with the cryptic comands if they are locked down by the rest of your deck they are pointless plus they require triple blue
this is gab nassif deck
It's pretty nice actually. I'd take out 2 esper charms and replace them with Naya Charms.
