This began as a really really cheap landfall deck. It's still moderately cheap to build (cards like misty rainforest are 100% optional), but it's also still really fun to play. Not built to win, folks, built to be fun. Cards like Clone and Rite of Replication quickly become easy to cast. Hedron Crab wears them down fast, as does Tome Scour and Keening Stone, and as if that wasn't enough to worry about, Sphinx of Jwar Isle comes in to bring the hurt as well. Oh, and I just really like Roil Elemental.

Instead of deprive, get counterspell. same cost and effect, but without returning a land to your hand.

I use Deprive so I can get the land back in my hand and use it for landfall.
That only works if you plan on not playing a land every turn. Since i highly doubt you will run out of lands to play before the end of the game.
Believe it or not, that actually does happen. More often than you'd think, really.
