Deck Description

This decks creature base generally revolves around restoration angel. Every creature other that olivia voldaren has synergies with restoration angel in order to eek out card advantage and board advantage to win.

How to Play

The deck has a 55/45 jund matchup and it's abzan matchup is similar so it's good to play against any jund/abzan in your meta. Tokens are very good vs lilliana and so is wall of omens into brimaz on the play, as well as crackling doom (kill their biggest creature, kill or damage lilliana). The creatures may not be as hard hitting as jund but the removal suite in mardu is so good that it's hard to for jund to ever stick a threat unless they thoughtseize you on a particularly bad hand. Burn matchup is also very good (70/30), the deck runs 0 dark confidants and the playset of wall of omens which helps a lot, as well as two lightning helix's, two kolaghan's commands and 3 inquisitions. The deck also does remarkably well vs any URx decks at a 60/40 matchup (depending on the build of the deck). Your affinity matchup is great, inquisition can take key powerful cards, due to affinity being made of lots of not very powerful creatures that have synergies with other very powerful creatures and equipment. You also have two Kholaghan's commands main board to get straight up two for one's every single time you cast it. You also have a range of flying and non flying blockers so it's easy to deal with their evasion. Anger and wrath of god post board makes you even more favoured game two.

It's worst matchup is probably tron due to wall of omens being a 2 mana do nothing and draw a card and due to how slow and grindy the deck is, it just gets out classed later in the game by tron's threats (30/70). The best cards in your deck against it are Brimaz, inquisition, thoughtseize, dreadbore, path to exile and olivia voldaren (fun fact, you can steal emrakul with olivia, i have yet to make this happen though XD). Take out all of your lingering souls and board in 2 stony silence and a thoughtseize, do not be afraid to mulligan a little aggressively if your hand is even slightly bad. Elves and abzan company are also a massive pain. It's about 40/60 in their favour and you need to make sure your hand is full of good early removal against both of these decks, they both go too wide and they are difficult to race. You want to bring in anger of the gods, wrath of god and a grafdigger's cage against both of these (grafdiggers stops chord of calling and collected company). The eldrazi matchup is also quite bad. It seems like it would be good cause of path and terminate being good in the matchup, but because your creatures are often so small it's hard to deal with creature combat and thought-knot seer tears the good removal out of your hand. It's a 40/60 split in their favour. Crackling doom is one of the best cards in the matchup cause it can kill reality smasher without having to discard.
