I recently updated my old discard deck to incorporate some newer additions. Firstly, Liliana's Caress is like a Megrim but better allowing you to cut back on Megrims and almost guarantee one of the two in the starting hand. Sangromancer allows a sizable creature that increases your life substantially as you force your opponents to discard. Finally, Bloodchief Ascension gives you something to do your first turn and then compliments Megrim and Liliana's Caress perfectly. Every discard deals two damage, adding quest counters to Bloodchief Ascension. Once there are three quest counters, Bloodchief Ascension essentially becomes a Liliana's Caress that also gives life to you. One common flaw for discard decks is what to do once your opponent loses their entire hand. This is solved in four ways. First, The Rack and Nezumi Shortfang have the ability to punish opponents for their small hand sizes. Secondly, Cephalid Looter, Cephalid Broker and Reckless Scholar all deal with draw then discard guaranteeing cards in your opponents hand. Thirdly, the inclusion of Funeral Charm and Piracy Charm, as instants, allow you to force your opponent to discard their card the moment they draw it, before they have the opportunity to play it. Finally, Recoils work best if your opponent is handless as it then sends the returned permanent to the graveyard while inflicting Megrim/Liliana's Caress damage. The Cephalids and Reckless Scholar also help in the event that you do not start with a Megrim or Liliana's Caress. In this circumstance the draw/discard can be used upon yourself to filter through your deck in search of a Megrim or Liliana's Caress.

Good idea... I have had the same trouble in my discard deck. I used Wheel and Deal to get around the problem. Check out my discard deck here: http://www.mtgvault.com/viewdeck.php?did=4122
