Deck discussion for Unavoidable Pain

I really like ur deck idea. I put together a very similar deck based off this. http://www.mtgvault.com/poisonedblood71/decks/476536/ here is my take on it. I have it unlisted cuz urs was the original design. Il put a link to this in the description.

Dump Mark of the Vamp. and take Artful Dodge for Elbrus and Ludevic. Put it at least into your SB, if you are not able to finish off your enemies fast enough:D

mark of the vamp is essential for susatain and every creature has already either unblockable or trample what makes artful dodge useless.

So i just played a bunch of games running my version of this deck and the main issue i ran into was creature removal. One of my opponents was running a dimir mill wich i was doing fine against until he pulled out Consuming Aberrations. I kept it tapped with the hands of binding, but its ability of mill wenever he plays a spell still kept hitting me. There is some creature control with fog bankand hand of binding, but no kill spells. Also I found that adding Vampire Nighthawk helped a lot with sustain as well as keeping creatures from attacking me. You can add the moonsilver spear to it then suddenly it is a killing machine (deathtouch firststrike) or inquisiters flail and now u essentially have a doublestrike lifelink. the test subject and elbrus tended to get destroyed rather quickly. but they r still worth having. Test subject is essentially a "an opponent discards a kill spell or loses the game".

looking at your changes, Id say the equipment changes u made were probably more harmful than helpful. Less than 1/3 of ur deck is creatures, and of that number, only 1/2 are human. so only a select few of ur creatures can benifit fully from these items. another thing is I see you trying to focus a lot on lifelink, but this is a dimir unblockable deck. You dont need to gain life as much as u need to deal damage. taking out the eblus and test subject reduce the overall damage potential significantly. sure they tend to be killed off early, but not having them means ur opponent can save the kill spells for ur unblockables wich is also hurtful. also, the switch from a fog bank to daggerdrome seems pointless. u r trading a essentially 0/infinity blocker for a 1/1 lifelink for same cost. that 1 life gain doesnt outweigh all the creatures that could be stopped with fog bank. i feel curiosity should be put back in as well. once u hav all ur stuff out, it helps you keep the cards flowing in. Im thinking of adding a few counter spells in as well as it will help deal with those creatures or spells u just dont have an answer for

my problem here is that the match is over before i played my seventh mana.
i just put some cheap creatures in with flying or unblockable to get at least a creature out to pressure.
as soon as i draw an invisible stalker i equip the artifacts on him and the other creatures are left to block.

What deck were u running against? I was doing great against most of my opponents, had a bit of trouble with a dimir mill once consuming aberration dropped but nightveil gave me a lucky bounce and discard. Only issue i really have run into is big creatures, hence fog bank.

but to go along with wat u were saying for smaller creatures to put pressure, maby latch seeker. 3 guaranteed unblockable for 3 mana as apposed to ur rogue wich is 2 damage with a chance of being blocked (in standard right now its not too uncommon to see a rogue here or there, reckless waif, shadow alley, etc).
maby incursion specialist. 1/3 for 2 but wen u play enough spells it bumps up to 3/3 unblockable. even a dimir keyrune. turns into a 2/2 unblockable for 2 (once u play it for 3). and it can giv u more mana early on.

last thought, TREPANATION BLADE. 3 cost, 2 equip can easily giv +2 or +3 and if ur lucky even more. not variable based off creature type. possible substitute for ur human favoring equipment?
