Deck Description

mono red controlling type deck

cards in a nutshell?
everflowing challice for turn 3 koths or just ramp for kothless pheonix's and molten tails
ratchet bomb to get rid of avenger tokens, other pesky 0 drop artifacts, and maybe even a bigger threat like an early jace
molten tails are ok in this deck. they dont neccissarily finish games but it's nice to have a 4 drop that can add metalcraft, pitch pheonix's to cast for less from grave and deal 4 damage for 4 mana.
wurmcoils, kargans, and titans are good finishing cards.
pilgrims eye helps ramp and thin the deck a lil.
brittle effigy for a big threat like primevil titan, bsa, or something else
lightning bolt for burn damage or removal.
arc trail to get rid of mana accelerators mainly or fauna shaman and lotus cobra. other examples.
pyroclasm to survive the first couple turns agains aggro. i have a hard time against goblins and fast rdw.
koth for mana ramp mostly. sometimes good to swing for 4 but never good to lose a mountain.
1 valakut in case the games gets long. i dont feel the need to have means of fetching it. id rather pilgrims eye over expedition map because it stays on the board for metalcraft pheonix's and can fly at planeswalkers

SB:
ignus for ramp decks
manic vandal for monument and metalcraft decks
combust for baneslayers or other U/W creatures.
melt terrain gets rid of dangerous valakuts and manlands. unlike ruinblaster this makes them take 2 to the face and can get ride of ANY land. i like it because of the instant damage.
extra pyroclasm kus aggro is a bit tough against this deck.

most of my games end with 5 open mana and 2 pheonix's dropping kus of koth.
usually have a "finisher" on the board by turn 5.
