The idea is simple. Get alot of value for the cards you play when everything is set up. For example, say Parallel Lives is out. Cast Cackling Counterpart on a Thragtusk and you gain 10 life, get two 5/3:s that expand into four 3/3:s when they leave the battlefield. Or: Play Talrand´s Invocation while Parallel Lives and Talrand is out, get six 2/2 flyers. With growing ranks, add two of any creature in your upkeep. Cackling on Acidic Slime with Paralell Lives out let´s you destroy two lands and then two more each upkeep.
