Chromanticore, you're awesome.
Seriously, Chromanticore has got to be one of the best, possibly most hilarious 5-color card ever printed for the casual players (and of course Standard, but no one else plays this guy). Perhaps someone who plays modern can show me a card better (Child of Alara? Neh, it's for EDH), but for now, this card won me over. So I decided to go make a deck based of him because........well he's awesome!
So you can take 1 look at the deck and possibly say "Hydreigon, what the f#@k happened here?" No, don't say that yet. This deck works, and when it does, you have a hilarious win condition. If I had any more words to put in the "Deck Description" box, then I'd just be rambling on about Chromanticore.
Your goal is to, well play Chromanticore. Throughout the first 4 turns, you ramp with the likes of Elvish Mystic and Sylvan Caryatid. At this moment, you're only using green and white mana (white mana is more used for Fleecemane Lion, Karametra, and Plea for Guidance). Karametra can be used to ramp a little for the mana you need, Fleecemane Lion, ok we'll get to that later, and Plea for Guidance can search for Chromanticore, Archetype of Endurance, and possibly Karametra (because they're all enchantments, but you probably knew that, didn't you?). Also, on the process of ramping, you have a Chromatic Lantern engine in the deck to get all 5 colors out to play Chromanticore. Even when you don't have the Lantern, try to take the time to search the other shock lands and other basic lands to get them on the field (Karametra and Peregrination).
Now we get to the fun part: With all your lantern-glorified mana, and you have a Fleecemane Lion out with it's Monstrosity effect, bestow the Chromanticore on your Fleecemane Lion. Do you know what that makes? an 8/8 indestructible hexproof flying trample vigilance first strike LIFELINK creature.............in Standard. Great, f#@king god.
Fleecemane Lion isn't the only creature that can be bestowed Chromanticore. If Karametra with all the devotion was bestowed, then I don't know how in god's name would you destroy that monster. If Archetype of Endurance was bestowed with him, then he would also be a wrath of destruction (because then he has Hexproof). You can also play Chromanticore manually and normally, but that would most likely be for situations when Stormbreath Dragon (I have decided to call him Shitstorm Dragon because I still hate him with a burning passion from hell) decides to nail you for 4 damage every turn.
Sideboard is a little self-explanitory like all of my sideboards have been. Archetype of Endurance is here just incase you need a 4th 1 for whatever reason, Elixirs for mill decks, Mistcutter Hydras for blue control decks, Glare of Heresy for Brimaz, Selesnya Charm for Desecration Demon, Nylea for a bit of more effects, and Unravel the Aether for removal of gods (because they're also enchantments).
Comment and rate! :D
