Deck discussion for Deathtouch / Firststrike

Odric, lunarch marshal would be better than Concerted effort, he can spread deathtouch as well as first strike

Try adding trample. It works really well with deathtouch, because you only need one damage to kill the blocking creature, so almost all the damage gets through. Also, it works with both odric and concerted effort.

I don't believe that is how it would work, unless they did double strike, all the damage is applied at once, not 1 at a time, so if its a 1/4 vs a 5/5, it only takes one for lethal, but only one damage would get thru it since it has 4 toughness.

"Deathtouch means that any damage dealt by the source is considered lethal damage to a creature.

Trample just checks that you assigned lethal damage to the blocker(s) before you assign any to the defending player or planeswalker.

Because deathtouch makes any amount of damage lethal, you only need to assign 1 damage to each blocker before trampling over. Even if the blocker is indestructible or has protection, you still only need to assign 1 damage because trample checks damage assignment rather than the result of damage."
I think Epochalyptik says it better than I could on tappedout.net
