Deck discussion for Madness

Nice deck. The shooter assembly you told me about seems really good in this type of deck, so maybe put one more in. Even if their not useful in multiples, you are more likely to draw one if you have 2.

I think I can add another. Increasing devotion would not be useful in comparison because the flashback cost is prohibitive. Also the later game board clear works well with thopter.

The nice thing about the operation of Thopter assembly is that it's an upkeep trigger. You can choose the upkeep trigger of the Assembly before Descent to get thopters out, or Assembly after Descent to take out the remaining few thopter tokens and trigger it again.

Take out the zealous persecution and the O-Rings and add more underworld connections. They are really good for card advantage, and when you have to sacrifice your Oblivion ring, they will just have their gigantic monster back and your O ring has just been keeping it from being sacrificed.

Well the idea with Zealous was that I wanted to get combat advantage for my tokens because in practice I lose more to blocking than to Descent. Casting it will kill any 1/1's, help my tokens beat the 2/2's, go one for one with 3/3's and 4/4's if double blocked. I think it will go further than doom blade.

Oblivion Ring was mainly to stop anything getting through a Day of Judgement, non-creature, non-destroyable, or late game big baddies. I can't really think of a better companion. As far as it getting sacrificed I just choose to sacrifice the Descent before the Oblivion Ring.

I do think Underworld Connections is pretty kickass for this deck though. I'll see if I can find room for a 3rd.

How about a few Read the Bones?

Read the bones seems great for finding the descents and good creatures, while the lifeloss is minor. I would put 2-3 in.

Read the bones let the opponent off the hook when I playtested it. It set me up for hand advantage but I was starved for removal. I get my scry from my lands and I'll just choose to go second for the draw advantage. That way they will drop more creatures to Day of Judgement.

Shimian Specter just wasn't delivering much in the way of card grabs. I swapped him out for a couple Desecration Demons to pluck off any last servivors after Madness has scrapped their land.

Oh yeah, and in my playtest I took out a 7/7 trample Elderscale Wurm with just 3 soul tokens because of Zealous Persecution. The guy made a mistake, that's the beauty of instant speed. It had the added bonus of killing his Omnath and Llanowar too. It pairs really nicely with Lingering Souls because if I don't see my board clear I can drop the souls at 3, then at 4 flash back the souls and save 2 land for the instant. Suddenly double defense and weakened attackers is pretty sweet.
