Deck Description

As we all know there are a lot of bird creatures but in my opinion they all seemed so "weak".
So i searched on bird decks and i stubbled upon "soulcatchers' aerie and that is where it all begun.
Crazy thing to have this card on turn 2 onto the battlefield in combination with a couple of birds who die.

How to Play

Well u want to have a "soulcatcher" card in your opening hand if u don't well no problem just see if u got a "stormscape familiar"
U want to build up a wall of birds to defend yourself be patient on this part don't let them die to soon! As soon as u got one of the soulcatchers cards onto the battlefield u can go and start suiciding some of them to make the rest stronger.

When u are later in game had a couple of birds die, u want to play trummingbird to go and start proliferating. The deck is insane in stacking from early on and later the game well the better u spend the mana u can play birds for 1-2 mana and they can easily appear on the battlefield as 8/8 creatures.

The "aven mimeomancer" is there to get the base stats up of those birds. But u can use it in both ways for example your oppenent has ha 4/4 angel just put a feather counter on it and it becomes an angel with base power and toughness 3/1 that's a huge difference for u!

doesn't matter what u draw u can always play but be sure to have a "soulcatcher", "soulcatchers' aerie" or a "stormscape familiar" in your oppening hand cause they make sure the birds get better/ cheaper.

3 different instants to protect us from dying to early, they all can be used in multiple ways so make sure to pick one wich is best for the current situation u are in.
example u are almost dead and have a "dawn charm" and the mana u need, the enemy goes all in throw the "dawn charm" and enjoy an open opponent ;)

ghostly prison works really well especially if u can put it there on turn 2 it does it's job very good and gives u more time so u can survive that early game.

"day of judgement" can also be a very good card to put in here board whipe vs token spam and if u have a "soulcatchers' aerie" u are going to trigger it hard. It doesn't matter then if your birds die it's a sacrifice for the greater good ;)

There are several good Bird Tribal cards: Seaside Haven, Ageless Sentinels, Airborne Aid, Battle Screech, Jotun Owl Keeper, and Keeper of the Nine Gales are the most powerful, I'd say.

What about Judge's Familiar? It is a one drop to help your mana curve. You can play with whatever land you have first. It has a decent countering ability which, due to the fact that you sac it, powers up Aerie.

I've been using birds for years. Phantom Flock is one of my favorites.

I thought the bird decks started with Kangee? It was just a control deck that has one Kangee as a finisher.

I think you should at least consider having 4 copies of a lot of spells like Dawn and Azorius charm(s), as well as Squadron Hawk and Soul Catcher. I think Wingmate Roc is a good finisher that you also should think about, and that Territorial Roc is a waste of your time as it's hard to kill with combat damage early-game (and you want things to die for Soul Catcher). Perhaps replacing it with more copies of other cards is a good idea.
