I love Crop Rotation. I think it's an insanely versatile card that i feel like is kinda under the radar (if the rumors that its going to be in MH2 are real- i think itll definitely do something stupid in modern-so ive been looking into that potential future as well- valakut comes to mind) so i've been brewing a ton of decks with it recently (i havent made most of them public yet). It allows you to run a ton of utility lands to have instant speed answers to things and the for this deck specifically- triple landfall turns(or even potentially up to or exceeding quintuple depending on board state and your hand- krosan wayfarer allows for some nonsense here also) for the low price of 1 green. It can also just fix your mana for you if needed but thats lame...but hey: versatility is good. This deck forces your opponent to block or have answers or they can get blown-out instantly. two landfall creatures and no blocker with a crop rotation or two or a temur battle rage in hand is an easy over 20 damage attack. I have playtested with a worse/ less realized version of this deck- and that is the way it usually wins. The version of this deck i have playtested was a naya build- and it IS extremellyyyy glass canony and can have awkward starts (the deck is boglesque in that it NEEDS at least 1 creature to get it going and we dont have the advantage of most of our bodies having hexproof) - making control oriented matchups basically an impossible task to try and win. This version of the deck tries to help out that issue by cutting white (As steppe lynx is really the only reason to run it) and adding more resilient/harder to deal with late game threats in the form of jungleborn pioneer and murasa behemoth. The idea behind pioneer is getting a 2 for 1 to outpace 1 for 1 removal and to put a non-interact-able body on the field that can take advantage of adventuring gear. Murasa behemoth is nice because of the trample and doesn't rely on landfall to get it going and late game we probably wont have the resources to landfall very much if our glass cannon went off and failed. Control really is the main enemy here- so the board hates heavy on blue and has recursion/protection for the mono black matchups (which is VERY difficult for us- and there isn't much hate in these colors for it). This deck I'm always tweaking so its always a work in progress. I just dont want to give up on it because those 20+ damage swings are a great high man :P.
Get a landfall creature out- and then start threatening them with it. Always pretend you have crop rotation in hand- its better to wait for more creatures and/or temur battle rage- you ideally want to win in a turn. If you need to answer some of your opponents things, crop rotation will also function as instant speed utility which where i think it secretly shines- reanimator deck being sketchy? Crop rotation out bojuka bog. Need to use it again? Crop rotation for gruul turf. Need a blocker or extra creature to attach adventuring gear to? Go get khalni garden. Dumb elves attacking you with their dumb 1 toughness nonsense- grab desert and start eating away. Need to go unblockable this turn or protect from removal? Grab sejjiri steppe. Though ideally...you just want to grab evolving wilds or terramophic expanse...and then grab another land and get that double dipping landfall good stuff going and then temur battle rage for a win. It can be a little glass cannony like i've mentioned- but the fun of landfall is... every draw- even the lands feel like spells so you almost never feel like your running out of steam.counterspells and just straight up removal can wreck us- as crop rotation needs a land sac as part of the cost- so postboard- pyroblast is a main ingredient. And the rest is just interaction or recursion/protection and some small hedges for other matchups
