Deck Description

Tribal Illusions

This is a casual-tabletop deck for fun with my friends and any ideas to help better this deck is greatly appreciated.

The reasoning for my cards:

Wurmcoil Engine/Steel Hellkite: Wurmcoil Engine is helpful in this deck using Grand Architects ability, or even copying Wurmcoil Engine once with Phantasmal Image to become a 7/7 hexproof deathtouch-lifelink creature.

Steel Hellkite can be a game changer by wiping the opponents board and attack with your illusions next turn.

I also like having these guys in my deck because it kinda takes the threat away from my Lord of the Unreals...they got to choose either Lord of the Unreal or Wurmcoil Engine/Steel Hellkite and probaly will deal with Wurmcoil/Steel Hellkite first.

Please check out my other decks: The Vampire Diaries, The Doll Massacre, and OMG?! You Got Squaids.

Deck discussion for Realm of the Ilusions

Yeah i was thinking of that too, that way i can lower my deck to 60 but i rather keep my Steel Hellkite/Wurmcoil Engine because they are really useful and treasure mage is in there to find my big artifacts. Grand Architect is in there to pump up my illusions while also summoning my big artifacts. Adaptive Automaton is in there also to bump up my illusions more.

I found that this deck is extremely good when playing 1v1 but when i was playing 3v3 i could easily deal with one person but by the time i was done that the other player had enough mana and creatures where my Mana Leak/Spell Peirce would just be useless by than.

I need to include more spells that dont require the opponent to pay mana to counter my spell like Negate.

Haha, I have the same problem with my deck! Illusions do not fair well against more than one opponent. It hits hard and fast because the power curve starts high then inclines in a very subtle slope. I appreciate your comments on my illusion deck. I have already altered it a bit in real life to something a little better, but I do agree that I should take out the abomination. I'll look into the other cards you suggested. I like the idea of Preordain in your deck too.

A couple things I added were evacuation (saved my butt MANY times). I'm toying with the idea of using Door of Destiny and Familiar's Ruse (a spell that you just may be looking for) so I can bounce my creatures for doors. Then perhaps elixir of life so when I burn through my instants I can recycle them.

Good luck with your illusions!

I would suggest that you switch meddle for redirect.Probably go for putting in a last phantasmal dragon and taking out the "Counterspell". I like how you stuck the Sword of Feast and Famine. And I like how you have a nice balance between an Artifact flow/ illusion flow. Its a nice deck.

I would put in redirect but i currently dont have the card right now and dont have money funds at the moment to buy it as i quit my job. I personally find that 3 Phantasmal Dragons is enough in this deck and the counterspell i find is the best counter in blue history 2 blue mana to counter target spell just doesnt get any better than that. And thank you for the comment ill think about your suggestion and test it out eventually.

Seems like you're trying to go in too many directions. You want the Wurmcoil, Architects, Hellkites and whatnot, and it's no secret why. They win games. Why not just splurge for the playset of wurmcoils and dragons and add artifacts and artifact helpers while ditching the tribal sub-theme? They're just slowing you down at this point.

phantasmal beast is like the other illusions, but veiling oddity is good, cause when it enters the b/f from suspend it makes creatures you control unblockable
