Mono-Black demons have never really had a home in standard up until recently. But now, with all the cheap demons and good blockers, its time for them to shine. May I present...Torpor Demons!!!

I like the idea with torpor orb, however I think the demons come into play WITH +1/+1 counters on them, so they still die the 2nd time around. However, it does in fact stop treacherous pit-dweller. +1->Neat idea!

Thnx! And yes the still die the second time around. the thing is though that Demonlord and Treacherous are so big after undying that they rarely die a second time. Also, BSZ for 1 will reset them and sill harm other creatures.
Hi heliosofcows, I've always liked the idea of torpor orb abuse. That you did in standard form is neat. I've tried to spot anything missing in your deck and the only thng I could come up with was I like Bloodgift Demon over Harvester of Souls mainly because it is one less mana casting cost and its ability is slighly more reliable that Harvester of Souls. Sideboard Death Mark, Geth's Verdict and Rachet Bomb are possibilities. If you'd like to look at some legacy abuse of Torpor Orb here's a couple my Torpor Orb decks. Torpor Dreadnought Deck Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=211081 Black Sundial Deck Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=218152 Sundial of the Infinite Deck Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=216189 Again impressive Demon Deck considering its limited to Standard.
Thank you for the comment. Oddly enough, I was adding Bloodgift Demon when you posted this. Good call on the Ratchet Bombs adding them right away. Gonna run Tribute to Hunger in SB over Verdict, but if I find myself mana-starved too often, I'll change it up. Going to comment on said decks right away.
I'm not a fan of gloom surgeon but, I must admit this deck is low budget and brutal. I would NOT want to go up against this with a few of my decks. Well done!
