Dredge is one of the most intimidating abilities I've seen in MTG. The mechanic of wanting everything in your graveyard (creatures, instants, sorceries, enchantments) is quite useful and quite scary. This deck aims to fully take advantage of the dredge mechanic, and aims to have as many cards in the graveyard as possible. Once you get cards in the graveyard, you have so many options on what to bring back or play. You can get creatures, land, direct damage, life, and discard spells, all from the comfort of your graveyard. Not only that, but you can keep bringing them back over and over and over again. What a great mechanic!
The main thing you want to do is get your "dredge engine" going as fast as possible. Many of the spells in this deck have dredge--get them in your graveyard ASAP, and start dredging away to increase the size of your graveyard. The bigger your graveyard is, the more options you have. If you have 5 cards with dredge in the graveyard, you can pull any of them into your hand--so the larger the graveyard, the more options you have. Use golgari thug to bring back any creatures that ended up in the graveyard that you want back (for example, if you dredge a ghoultree you can use golgari thug to put him back on top of your library so that you can play him). Since your dredge creatures are totally expendable (you actually want to kill them from time to time if it will help your dredge) sylvok life staff and skullclamp are must have additions to this deck. (PS. For all the serious players I'm sorry about including skull clamp but it's TOO perfect for this deck and I'm just a casual player anyway.)
