This is a great deck, I like it a lot. I have a similar deck although it runs more extort.

In terms of feedback, the only thing I'm wondering a little bit about efficiency. Blood Artist is a good card, but maybe a 2-drop extort creature like Tithe Drinker, Basilica Screecher or Syndic of Tithes might have more opportunities to gain one life and make an opponent lose 1 life than creatures dying. It really depends on what's being drawn and whether a lot of creatures are dying/attacking. Also 4 Diabolic Tutors gives you more options, but if you're mostly searching for Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond, I wonder if it's more probable to get them with 1 more of each and 2 less Tutors. Then you wouldn't have to wait a turn after the Tutor before you can play it.

I'm sure it works just fine as it is though!

I've been playing a vaguely similar Vamp deck (the first deck I have built since a 10+ year absence from MTG, so be nice!), and I have found that Killing Wave is great for wiping out multiple creatures because if you are gaining life with the vamps, paying some for each of your own creatures shouldn't be a problem, but gives your opponent a difficult choice. I guess that would only be standard for another few months now though.

Comments and suggestions would be MUCH appreciated!

0

"Vampire Nighthawk is not standard or at least till M14 releases" this statement litterally says that Nighthawk is NOT currently standard, and insinuates that it will be when M14 releases. Both are wrong, as it was printed in M13, and even after M14 releases, M13 does not cycle out until the Innistrad block cycles. in October. Please have a clue before you make a comment.

You can win the game by getting out Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood then dealing 1 damage to him. Infinite loop.

All these life gain shenanigans, how it's not that expensive, and no multicolored lands like others use. I really like how this can be a budget deck for some people! There's 4 DIABOLIC TUTORS, I LOVE THAT! I really have no suggestions for this deck besides multicolored land if possible, i just wanted to say this deck looks so much fun to play with!

0

So does the two enchantments mean an infinite pool of gaining life and opponents losing life? Because you gain the life from dealing damage, and then the other enchantment deals damage which makes you gain life, so would that make it an endless cycle?

I'm kinda new to magic, and was looking for deck inspiration.

Would this deck be good at a competitive standard friday night magic format?

Or is this only a casual deck? :)

0
Posted 25 July 2013 at 16:01

Probably not competitive standard, it could definitely hold its own but many standard decks run faster than this an could cause a lot of issues, so while it could do well in standard its a more casual feel than most standard decks

Why not drop the doom blades and go murder gives you more flexibility though the obvious not standard argument can be made
Until then it would be decent and I don't see adding blood barons despite some people saying as much because it will cause an imbalance in your curve

0

Doom blade is a lowerdrop allowing me to use it earlier, and as you stated, murder cycling out.

Wow just realized Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood make an infinite life gaining/damage dealing combo...

0
Posted 10 August 2013 at 21:04

It also causes a draw unless you have some way of interrupting it.

0
Posted 16 August 2013 at 15:43

No it doesn't. It's an auto win unless interupted, after at least 1 damage is done with both on the field. Exquisite Blood tirggers which triggers sanguine bond which triggers exquisite, that cycle goes until the opponent(s) life total reaches zero

0
Posted 16 August 2013 at 17:08

My mistake. Thanks for the explanation. I didn't realize a state based action could interrupt a triggered ability's resolution. Love the combo.
