I usually stick to a few colors when I brew for EDH, and I rarely have the patien to break away into less comfortable color pairings. That being said, I asked my friends to challenge me with a color pair to build from and I got Rakdos. I've seen enough chaos based Rakdos decks to last a lifetime, so I thought I'd break away from that to build a list that features the demon himself, Rakdos. In doing so, I also found that I could feature his best variant and his ability in a cool way by adding in universal damage triggers at my upkeep along with some big beaters to force into play early. This list should have little to no issues with double spelling almost every turn once it is going, and just for fun I added some big Reanimator cards to play along with Flayer of the Hatebound as a backup strategy. I hope it is fun.
Hold onto cards like Browbeat, Risk Factor, Spawn of Mayhem, Sin Prodder and Combustible Gearhulk until you have Rakdos in play and have or need some more creatures if you can. Risk Factor and Browbeat force your opponents into making only bad decisions, as taking 4 or 5 can let you double spell two or more massive creatures into play and allowing you to draw cards will refuel your hand if you're getting low. Your opponents should be under constant pressure the entire game. The Elderspell is fantastic for Lilly and Chandra, so if you are in a pinch against walkers be sure to use them wisely- as a Chandra or Lilly ultimate can end the game almost immediately. Bonus Round, Fork, and Reverberate are all excellent ways to copy Browbeat and Risk Factor as a way to force more damage through or see more cards. They also help against counter heavy opponents, and can end the game with Torment of Hailfire. You aren't really playing this list to make allies at the table to be perfectly frank. Killing Wave is an incredible card in this list as it functions as both a board wipe and a way to cut around mana costs with Rakdos. Theater of Horrors is also pretty amazing as it is a solid card drawing mechanic that extends your maximum handsize by quite a bit. And last, but certainly not least, Flayer of the Hatebound is in here to benefit from the numerous wheel, loot, and rummage effects that will likely be occuring by combining them with reanimating effects like Lilly's ultimate and Rise of the Dark Realms. The list is not fast, but it does damage, and hopefully that is enough.
