This is a pretty casual list that I put together for myself as a way to break the usual Golgari pattern. I've always liked Glissa's design, but she has also been a difficult commander to build around because Golgari rarely cares about artifacts. At least until I remembered a very important legendary artifact known as Mindslaver. As soon as I recognized the potential I filled out the rest of the list with things I thought would help make it worthwhile. Some Infect here and spiders there and voila, it was finished. Perhaps I could reorient it to have more Planeswalkers and a heavier counters matters theme later as a more efficient build, but until then I give you this lovely list as it is.
Well, the list supports a very light tribal subtheme for spiders which I thought would be a neat and casual support shell. Spiders are not powerful as tribal support, but they have potential between a couple of poweful drain effects tied to some pretty quick and efficient token generation. With this, spiders can allow you solid combat control and even supply you with backup finishes by going wide and draining your opponents. However, this is just the shell, and there are other abusable pieces that can manipulate both the battlefield and your opponents. The most powerful of which is likely the Glissa Mindslaver combo, which should essentially lock out at least one opponent, and possibly grant you the ability to take on the table in a pseudo-parasitic manner. This is not a recommended way to play every game, as it is often considered rude, but it is certainly a powerful way to close out a game or shut down an opponent set up to win. Lastly, the list has some minor Infect support as a way to quickly crack back at opponents when their shields are down as a way to quickly eliminate pertinent threats if you see an opening. The Infect also works well with the general token production strategy if you can't immediately sap and drain life for a win.
