I always appreciate the like and the invitation! I'm really just building lists for fun at this point, so I'm happy either way. I don't really see myself as being particularly noteworthy, but I like to help people find new ideas to work with so I'm cool with sharing my decks with anyone interested in taking a look at them.

Lol, turn 4 is definitely not bad for a kill. I like going off on 3 because it absolutely demands interaction from the opponent in game 1 if it goes off, but I figured keeping the combo simplified by have a 20+ power unblockable Knight with protection from removal is pretty solid as a feature win condition without pushing for too many new pieces, but Cobra and Apprentice are both really attractive as playable cards. I've been working all week so the first chance I'll have to proxy and test against other players will be tomorrow or Sunday depending on who shows up at my lgs. Also, BoP seems like a solid card that I don't have in my list. I like Noble for the exalted triggers, but it might be solid to add Birds to the mix to speed things up a bit and more consistently get my mana online by turn 3.
Sage and Apprentice both seem really solid for putting bodies into play that dig and setup. Initially the popular thought among my friend group was that Eladamri's Call was instant speed, and with T3feri out we could assemble pieces on our opponents' turns by holding up interaction if necessary or tutoring if not. That being said, the Call definitely goes all in on finding one creature, unless I find myself NEEDING a Noble or Alseid for some strange reason. I definitely see how that puts me in a corner if for some reason I can't retrieve a Knight, and those filtering cards could really help prevent that issue. The next time I'm at the shop when I can get some play testing in I'll certainly bring that up, it seems like it could be very relevant if Surgical Extraction starts popping back up in sideboards. I'm hoping that counterspells will keep the combo protected from control and other combo decks, but I won't always have an answer for everything.
This is awesome! I love it, I'll definitely see how that might work in this shell. I still haven't had a chance to even playtest this list as is, but I'm super stoked to try new stuff with it.
I've been debating an Enchantress list for a while now actually, and I think it could be a really cool way to play. I was thinking something that could run Enchanted Evening and Dance of the Manse, so I'll probably work on a Bant list to maximize the value. But I could also play Narset, Enlightened Master and run an Enchantment theme as free noncreature spells and just not play broken stuff or any extra turn spells so that it isn't super oppressive. I could also try an Ephara, God of the Polis style list where I cast "enchantments" that are also creatures with Flash to draw cards and stuff. That'd be pretty sweet to be honest. In any case, I like your suggestion and I'll see what I can brew up that might make a good list! Thanks for the help ^_^
Most of my experience is in playing lists running Green paired with other supporting colors, so I'm really used to ramping quickly with spells and creatures and removing troublesome permanents without having to navigate the stack as much. I felt like it would be cool to work on a list that still likes creatures a lot but doesn't use green as a crutch to get to them, plus I've been wanting to try out some sweet splashy plays with some of the cards in here. I don't really know how effective this exact list will be, but hopefully it'll at least be fun.
I like that suggestion a lot actually, the Ozolith is a really sweet card and I've been debating adding more cards that work with counters. It would do some really cool stuff with Greater Good as you could maximize a draw engine's value and save the counters for later use on Marath. I'm not sure where I would slot it in, but I could probably drop a mana dork for the artifact- honestly I only have Llanowar Elves in here because I have the nice full alternate art from Dominaria and don't currently have a Birds of Paradise. I appreciate the comment and I'll test it out when I can!
Thank you very much! I'm going to keep adjusting the list for a while, but for now I think it is probably ready for some actual play testing!
The aggressive approach to the list definitely seems like it would have a better game 1. Reckless Waif and Village Messenger both seem very powerful openers with some late game bite if things go long. I think I want to have Full Moon's Rise over Breakneck Rider due to the difficulty in forcing his transformation without prerequisite cards, and the enchantments will force opponents to play a lot of wide coverage removal. Rhythm of the Wild sounds bonkers with CoCo, so that may be a powerful addition in the future. I think Immerwolf works a little better with the aggressive approach, at least as long as I'm going for powerful creatures post transformation. I might end up revisiting some things that get cut later to keep tuning the list, thanks for all the suggestions!
For theme I have, although I wasn't sure how her impact on the board would go over because most Werewolf tribal lists have a hard time against removal heavy decks- and I'm not sure how well she would do if my threats don't stick. That's why so much of the sideboard is dedicated to Veil of Summer and Ranger's Guile. Is there a spot that you had in mind for her?
This is definitely an issue I have considered, and I'm still on the fence. I like both Ulrich and Huntmaster, but forcing them to constantly flip is difficult because I can't guarantee my opponents won't cast any spells. I was hoping that one or more of the sideboard creatures could help me to balance that early aggro approach vs the mid game approach. I like Atarka's Command and Vines of Vastwood, they both help in different ways. I still want to maintain a theme if I can, I definitely don't expect the list to win an FNM or anything. I just want it to run smoothly so I can use it to get more people interested in MtG at my University's gaming club.
So with Repudiate // Replicate you have an additional copy spell that is basically modal if you wanted to run it, but your list and win condition looks interesting! Another solid include could be Incubation // Incongruity for the ability to filter through your deck for other copies of Biovisionary and you'd have an extra removal spell. Lastly, have you thought about Phantasmal Image or Cackling Counterpart as possible includes? Image is a bit expensive right now, but Counterpart is super cheap and comes with Flashback if you needed it. Not criticizing your build or anything, the list looks super sweet and goofy. Just making small suggestions that might improve consistency if you needed them, but either way I want to proxy this up and give it a shot!
I mean, I figured that anything that can reliably produce infinite mana could theoretically be a combo deck. All that green needed was a reliable way to filter through the deck without Yisan or Birthing Pod type combos. Paradox Engine = GooooodI also forgot to mention Umbral Mantel and Sword of the Paruns on mana dorks like Selvala, Karametra's Acolyte, Elvish Archdruid, Gyre Sage, and Magus of the Candelabra. As long as you have infinite mana, Nylea will let you one shot one or more people at the table.
I fixed it up a bit. I took out that bulky enchantment and one or two other cards for Sylvan Library and Cream of the Crop, then I squeezed in a Scroll Rack for good measure. I think it'll run more smoothly now with the additional fixing cards and hopefully it'll be easier for people to hit the infinite mana combos into Genesis Wave or Mind's Desire. I love a deck that can just flip itself over onto the battlefield and win a game.
I added Fable of Wolf and Owl early in an attempt to play a new card hoping it would be fun, but I'll probably pull it out for Sylvan Library because the top manipulation is just too good. I've been looking for a home for that enchantment for a while, but I think I'll put a Bant enchantment list together for it instead.
That's a pretty good point, I might adjust the list here and there in the next few days to get it just the way I want it. Trinket Mage would be an excellent include, and Vannifar looks awesome but I'm worried people won't want to play against her if she is too good. I figured at least Rashmi has a limit on how many times you can use her ability, so I won't get hated out of a 4 way.
Thanks! I've been wanting build a Simic commander for some time now, but I was having trouble picking which commander to build. I figured Rashmi would be fun, but before I decided on her I just started putting some of my favorite cards into a list and I tried to avoid getting too competitive by not adding too many tutors. I'm just a little worried that it doesn't have enough ways to interact with the board state, but hopefully I'm wrong and it outpaces opponents pretty well.
This is funny, but beyond slow. Gitaxian Probe was banned in Modern, which pretty much restricts you to strictly worse draw power unless you want to play Legacy where games are won or lost on turn 1 if someone is playing a combo deck. Also, most top tier modern decks have the capability of a turn 3-4 win condition, or they play heavy control/removal that will disrupt your only strategy... This deck is at best good to irritate friends on a budget, but that's totally fine if you have a solid few friends who like to screw around.
Hmm, now that Bloodbraid Elf is banned I still want to toss around the idea of a Naya Elf deck. I like where this is going, though I m curious if there is a way to play something like Primeval Titan or Craterhoof Behemoth in the deck as a more immediate win condition and using something like Mayael the Anima to cheat out the creature early... There is also a case to be made for cheating out an Ulamog or an Emrakul, but I'd settle for Prime Time. The only problem with Mayael is that she only hits big creatures, so the deck would suffer from playing fewer elves for more threats. But I still want to see it. Would you have any suggestions?
Have you got any ideas in mind for what you'd like this to do? I mean, would you like it to be budgeted under a certain price, a combo/control deck, aggressive creatures, a spellcasting green deck, something competitive or casual? This is one of the most powerful (if not THE most powerful) color combinations in EDH and you have a ton of options for creative plays and deck synergy. Not to seem showy but I'd be happy to recommend some stuff if you're interested. I hope this list goes well, I've always wanted to see a good Surrak list.
