I moved my pox deck from legacy format into modern with the new additions of Karn and Urza's saga. The name of the game is attrition, get rid of everything you can and let Urza's saga and my Planewalkers run away with the game via tokens and utility.

+1 from me, it's nice to see something fresh. However, there's no reason to not run white in modern seeing as how Flagstones of Trokair and Lingering Souls are.As far as running Murderous Rider // Swift End alongside Nether Spirit, I know it doesn't work in Loam Pox as you are likely to mill or discard the rider. Here discarding is the only danger but it is still a very real one.Why no Castle Locthwain Or Mishra's Factory?Other than that, a Torpor Orb and an Ensnaring Bridge seem like necessities in the sideboard. Oh yeah and Mycosynth Lattice is banned in modern.

i actually thought rider was a great idea, because it can avoid it by going on an adventure- though obviously there will be times it gets discarded instead before it has the chance. Agree on the sideboard calls though. Don't need the doubles with Karn. He can cut the second crucible and coating and lattice and bring bridge and orb I think. Other than that- I love this list so +1. Seems real tight and thought out. Curious to hear about results some day actually!
Thank you for pointing out the Mycosynth lattice being banned I hadn't noticed that! I didn't add white cause I wanted to keep the Mono-black theme I had with my legacy version. I cut out Mishra's because Urza's saga seems to just be better with the token generation and fetching. And I simply don't have Castle lochtwain in paper yet, thats the only reason I don't have it in the list. The murderous rider netherspirit kit is quite easy to work with as long as I use swift end first, but even if I can't then I still have the rack and saga construct to close out games quite nicely!I added torpor orb and bridge, I'll see how they work out next time I go to a modern event!
Trust me, with 4 Urborg you can afford to run 2 factories with a clear conscience and virtually no consistency sacrificed. I tend to turn 3 myself, but at that point there are a few hands that just don't work.If you ever get some gameplay in with this, please post a comment here about it, I'd love to hear how it went!
Curious:Aren't you incredibly soft to the most powerful counter in Modern right now: Spell Pierce?I'm also not sure how you beat Cascade decks that are immune to Cage? ( that might just be me as Pox in Legacy is not something I usually spend time worrying about). Not running Chalice seems weird.8 cast also seems like a problem. I also wonder if you just self destruct if you don't draw Urborg?Obviously I have questions! :)However, I kinda like the concept against fair decks, and there are some midrangy fair decks in Modern that will just fold to this.
I thought about adding chalice of the void to it, but I don't have any copies in paper. I assume I can fetch a chalice on 0 from urza's saga if I'm not mistaken. I'd also like a copy for side board to fetch with karn. As for Urborg, more likely than not I won't need it with all my fetches and swamps, but it does hurt not having it if my only land is Urza's. As for the spell pierce argument, you could say that about many decks to be fair i.e. dies to bolt, gets countered, etc...
Updated with a more current list. After playing a few times I made some changes to lean more towards a control style game
I think Ur right here, this is somewhat more controlling, not by much but you know...Still think Chalice is required, 2-3?. Good luck! Always fun to see folks tinkering. :)
