Deck Description

Put this together on a whim. Looking for ideas to improve on what's in place. Hoping to keep this eligible for standard play.

How to Play

End goal is to ramp up your mana to play a big Primordial Hydra. Or to get one on the field early, then use Vorel, Give//Take and Increasing Savagery to make him grow even faster. Using Alpha Authority to prevent control spells from removing your Hydra and capitalize on the trample.

Definitely handy for the brainstorming. Although I'd like to try and keep this eligible for standard play, I think it'd be fun to try something a little different at Friday Night Magic.

5/15/2013: Added a Side Board, thinned some lands (due to results from drawing sample hands), added Bred for the Hunt and Syncopate to the Main Deck.

Gyre Sage and Increasing Savagery is a quick way to generate a ton of mana, especially with Vorel thrown in the mix.
