Deck Description

This is a deck by one of my friends that i want to re-post and get feed back on how to make it better. The aim of the deck is to get Dark Depths out and play Aether Snap getting Marit Lage into play for the win. Lots of search and destruction to back it up. The house guard and brainspoil are used mainly for their transmute ability.
This is a fun deck with no format, so please, any and all advice is welcome.
Thanks

Deck discussion for Its Dark In The Depths 2

if you want to make this deck a little better try replacing Diabolic Tutor with Planar Portal and if you want to keep getting you lands back get a Crucible of the Worlds and throw it in as well besides that well contructed

Another suggestion is to get to a Mirror Gallery in order to get all of you Dark Depths into play at once and then if you can remove all counters from them using the AEther Snap, but it is after all just a suggestion.

Dimir House Guard is a great card but I'm not sure if it works here. The transmute, if read accurately should allow you to search for any card that costs 3B and all of your other 4 mana cost cards are 2BB. Also, this deck is a little slow. There are a lot of expensive cards in here, so a $6 (at most) Demonic tutor and a $8 (at most) Vampiric tutor would be helpful.

starfighter is right. It may be catasprophic if you aether snap with more than one, you'll murder them. you don't need the exact same mana cost for trasmute. you only need the same converted. so superdork is wrong. check out my deck such as abyssal tendencies and others please. Keep this deck alive, its good.

Thanks everyone for your comments. i am a bit wary of using mirror gallery and putting all the mariets into play. all my opponents need to do is pop the gallery and bang goes my main win condition.
Don't worry Necr0pheiliac, i'll keep the deck alive, it is pretty cool to win with a 20/20 indestructable flier.

Idk about the mirror gallery, you could sideboard it just to be sure your opponent isn't playing white, red, blue or anything else that could pop it. Also, sorry starfighter, but Planar portal?? seriously? it costs 6 to play then an ADDITIONAL 6 to activate, the tutor costs 4 or if you use demonic just 2 and if you use vamp than just 1. thats the difference between being fast or slow. Slow and steady rarely wins the race in this game, unless you're playing lifegain, which this deck clearly isn't
