This is Esper StaxEsper: color combination of Blue, White, and BlackStax: an archetype named after the card called Smokestack. This style can be boiled down into two words: RESOURCE RESTRICTION. The idea is to restrict the available resources that the opponent has, thus preventing them from playing the game. Now you may be thinking: "Stop me (the opponent) from playing the game? That is not fair!!" Well that is the point of the deck. If you do not like that, then tilt out and accept the fact that you lost cause you are too selfish to ink out a win. The deck is not completely one sided though, most of the stax cards affect the controller as well as the opponent. A good stax player (I can not begin to kid myself into thinking that I am) knows when to use the right cards at the correct time in order to minimize the negatives on themselves, while maximizing the negatives on the opponent. Bottom Line: Welcome to the longest game of Magic the Gathering you ever played, here hoping you brought snacks and a sleeping bag.
The deck uses Oloro commander ability of gaining 2 life every upkeep (DO NOT FORGET THIS TRIGGER) to maintain a healthy life total. From there, its a matter of restricting the opponent from playing the game with cards that either discard cards, make things cost more, or make it harder to keep cards on the field. From there, the win con is using token generation cards like Bitterblossom, Waste Not, or Luminarch Ascension to generate tokens and swing for lethal (Or if you are dealing with an uptight selfish person, make them tilt hard). There is a chance that you will suicide with this deck, do not let that get to you. Accept the lost, learn from your mistake, and keep on trying. Become the nightmare that MTG players will curse you for generations to come. (MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)
