This is a Grixis Combo Deck Grixis: a color combination of Red, Black, and Blue This is Nekusar the MindrazerHe is a commander with a howling mine built into him.So you think that a bad thing, having a commander that lets your opponents draw extra cards? But its his second ability that makes you rethink that"Whenever an opponent draws a card, Nekusar, the Mindrazer deals one damage to them"Now you can take the three best words in magic the gathering history "Draw a Card" and turn it into everyone's worst nightmare
The deck basically has you using cards that constantly makes people draw cards. This enables Nekusar to deal damage. If you can give him infect, then all you need to do is get everyone to draw 10 cards and you win with infect damage. This works because infect is a replacement effect to the damage a source deals. When a source deals damage to a player, it replace the damage with poison counters. This tactic is similar to how people would give creatures with ping effect (Prodigal Sorcerer) can replace the damage with poison counter. Because the draw damage is a trigger ability, it does not deal commander damage Quick reminder: Commander Damage is only obtained via combat damage with the commander. Any other instance of the commander dealing damage is considered normal damage So, essentially make everyone draw cards, and keep drawing, and keep drawing until their death
